My home is built upon Jesus, the Rock and Foundation of my life. He never changes; He is solid.

Now atheists build their homes on the shifting sand... as science and humanism ebbs and flows, what will keep their home from becoming anything more than debris on the dunes?

My home is built on a solid foundation of cement. And it's appropriately furnished with items that science has created in an effort to make my life more stable and convenient... unless it was Jesus that invented refrigerators...

I'm not an athiest but your statement reminds me a great deal of the things I hear from the mouths of street preachers pushing pamphlets on me and telling me why I'm going to go to hell every time I'm unfortunate enough to come across one.

Why can't you just leave well enough alone and let people believe whatever brings them the most peace of mind. It may be unfathomable to you, but for some people that's not Jesus. Why do you need to worry about the foundation they've built their lives upon or even whether they're for or against erecting a monument to the Ten Commandments in front of the county courthouse?

Your religious beliefs are exactly that, yours. You think they're 100% correct because if you didn't your vision of heaven and hell and your own personal salvation might fall apart, but the fact is that many people believe things quite different than you do with the same amount of conviction and just as much proof (usually very little).

Just let people be.

updates due to rising technology and better living discoveries and trends

"My home is built upon Jesus, the Rock and Foundation of my life. He never changes; He is solid."

Is THAT why you're still using an Outhouse and an old sock?

I use those shifting sands to make glass and with that Glass I can build a beautiful condominium skyscraper. From my penthouse view I can look down on you sitting on your rock. Why would you want a belief system that never changes? You give yourself no room to learn. I suppose you still believe the earth is flat, a view once espoused by religious leaders, since you have an unchanging view. Things change as we learn and Athiests are the people who are willing to embrace the change and embrace new knowledge. Remember the church called people like Galileo heretics for some of their views which today we all know are true.

Your "rock" is fictional.

My home is built on reality. That's a lot more solid than what you've got.

Sorry. Here, this might help you to understand your situation better. Do you know the Harry Potter stories? In them, Harry Potter goes to a wizard school, learns to be a wizard, and to fly around on a broomstick. Now, if someone finds a Harry Potter book 200 years from now, it'll still say that he went to a wizard school and learned to fly around on a broomstick. In the meantime, science will have changed, and we'll understand lots of things differently.

Now, suppose I'd decided to buy up broomsticks because I expected that someday we'll use them for transportation when our fossil fuels run out. See where I'm going with this? I can wave around my Harry Potter books all I want, pointing out that they've never changed, and they're still solid ground, but you know, the guy who did his investments based on science is the one who is going to have money in the bank, and I'm going to be sitting on a stash of useless broomsticks.

Changing in response to new evidence is a _good_ thing, not a bad thing. It's called "honesty", and it's where knowledge comes from. And wisdom, and happiness and productivity, and all of those other good things. There's no points given for sticking by a wrong answer, no matter how proud of it you may be.

You are right, your belief system never changes. Except a couple hundred years later when the world screams why are you still so far behind. The Earth was flat.... Oops then it wasn't. The Earth revolved around the sun. Oops, that one was also proven wrong. Man was created from mud and ribs. Oops, still trying to come to terms with that one.

My house on the sand has a very firm footing. I called in a company that specializes in things like that. They used science.

My home is built half on rock, half on concrete support beams pounded 9 feet in the ground... Very scientific, designed by an architect, supervised by an engineer, and every builder had at least 5 years of experience, no faith needed. And I'm pretty confident the house will outlast me :)

Does the FBI know you built on jésus? Shouldn't you at least let his family know he's not coming back?

The existence of so many denominations and doctrines surrounding Christian belief, and the ever changing evolution of your holy scripture, seem to point to the opposite.

Why do you accept the ruling of murderers and adulterers for which books of the NT were inspired by God?

Why do you rely on Faith through personal interpretation over measurable evidence?

Why are you willing to create meaning in life, trying to obtain everlasting life, which would inevitably lead to meaninglessness?

Your house has its foundations in sand, but hasn't yet been build.

In reality it is obvious you have your analogies turned around. Christians are the ones who have built their homes upon myth, superstition, and wide Utopian dreams. A Christians world has very little basis in the real world and as such they are doomed to a life of disappointment as they strive towards their only goal of death.

o-O Rock & foundation of your life.........I've heard that phrase and it scares me. If you want to live for someone else (more specifically an imaginary being) go ahead. But leave atheists alone if you can't come up with a good argument.

God is not solid. You can't see him, hear him, touch him, talk to him, know him, etc. Because he is not real!
