My favorite would have to be the friendship between Jonathan and David. King Saul was relentless in his determination to kill David when he found out David had been annointed to be the next king of Israel. Jonathan helped David escape, despite going against his own father. I believe this story is what Jesus was talking about when He said "He that loveth father or mother more than me is not worthy of me: and he that loveth son or daughter more than me is not worthy of me." Matt.10:37. God bless you!!!

David and Nathan.
After David has his affair with Bathsheba. Nathan poses a situation for David to judge. Nathan uses allegory to relate the sin David just committed. When David hears Nathan's story, David becomes indignant and judges that the perpetrator be sentences to death.
That's when Nathan turns to David and says "You are that man."
David, instead of being indignant and calling Nathan a bunch of names simply confesses his sin and repents.

The parable in which a father tells both his sons to go work in the vineyard. One son promises to go, but doesn't. The other tells his father he won't, but he actually does. Which son, Jesus asks, obeyed his father? The one who promised to obey, or the one who really obeyed?
I know a woman who used to worry over her non-Christian son, until I started reminding her about this parable. The non-Christian son was the only child she had who married and stayed married, who took care of his child, who consistently did good deeds, who practised his religion. Whereas her Christian children partied hard, got in trouble with the law, made lots of money and blew it on drugs and exotic travel, and let other people raise their children. This parable was a big comfort to her.

Judah and Tamar (Genesis 38).
It shows that cleverness is valued over strict patriarchal law.
That patriarchal law is very different than modern Christian sexual morality.
