Okay I am doing this thing for work, and I need to have an area for the workers to choose yes or no for an additional charge. If they choose yes, I need the formula to calculate, and if they choose no then it is not supposed to calculate anything extra. Can anyone please help me??

if they type yes or no in cell a1, then in cell b1 use
=IF(A1="yes",A2+A3,A2-A3)
so if they type yes you get the 1st formula.
otherwise it will use the 2nd formula.

this is probably more than you want so you can skip this next part.
1. do you trust your workers to answer the question properly? with a "yes" or "no"
2. will some peole get lazy and use y or n?

make it easy on yourself and give them a drop down box to choose from. you will get annoying erros if you get lazy.

-cell A1
-click data
-click validation
-under allow...choose list
-under source...type yes,no
-click ok

now you will have a consistant answer everytime.

well then, if you know well about these excel formulas and such, here is a simple explanation... inside the formula, create paramaters like If input is yes then [formula] and if no then [nothing] however, i am too lazy to go into detail about this, sry, but yeah, it is pretty easy, look at the excel formula help for more info if my answer didn't help, sry
