Atheists tend to look at reality an accept it as it is. They believe what can be verified to be truth in the only existence that anyone that has ever lived on earth has ever seen and been able to prove consistently. Christians, on the other hand, refuse to believe things that the rest of the world takes for granted, like evolution and gods originating as ideas in the cultures that worshipped them. Christians believe that their god is the only God. They don't believe that their version god was not around until about 325 CE, when a council voted to make Jesus part of their godhead. They don't believe that Noah's flood never happened. They don't believe that we did not all descend from Adam and Eve, but the rest of us do.

There are many other examples, but the bottom line is that Christians are the ones that really choose not to believe things tha can be verified to be true, so shouldn't they be the ones that are considered "Non-believers"?

Jay R, which was created first, the Earth, or the sun? Read your bible before you answer this... I have, and there's tons of science to back what I believe...

Steve, I apologize if you feel that I've lumped you in with the other non-believers. If one is open to believing what is verifiably true, then they are not the subject of this question. You believe the theory of evolution (as many Catholics, Jews and even Muslims, do as well) and therefore you are not part of the group in question. Thank you for bringing this to my attention. Have a great holiday season.

I really see your view point. It's all about perspective, isn't it?

Feel free to call others that don't believe like you "non-believers".

However, don't group all Christians together and generalize. Personally, I believe in Christ, but I also feel just as strongly that others should be free to worship, or believe as they so desire.

Realize that many Christians call other Christians non-believers when they don't think as they do. Why can't we just all hug and be happy?

Take care!

Your a close minded asshole, you just are. To generalize people like that is like saying every muslim thinks its ok if you kill someone just because there an infidel. Your asuming that all christians take the bible to be 100% accurate with know need of interpretation to understand its meaning. Also they choose not to agree, not to disbelieve. To not believe in something is to not except something intangible as existing in a sense. Your arguing for the sake of arguing when you truly just dislike christians and what they represent instead of most religions as a whole, which your argument should be applying to.

Christians are considered believers because they believe in god, and no one complains about this because most people are Christians of some sort. I agree with you though, that they should be the non believers.
It depends on the religion you are coming from, really everyone believes in something (unless it is nothing) and doesn't believe something else.

It seems like the average Christian is not aware about the following:

* Pagan origins of the Bible and the Christ Myth.
* Church history from the First Century onwards.
* Detailed knowledge of other religions.
* Evidences of forged or edited scriptures.

You're really just asserting some assumptions that are nothing but assumptions here. If you're going to try to make a point, you should use some sort of justification for what you're saying instead of just throwing ideas out there. It's pretty general for you to state what Atheists' views on reality are and the same for religious people.

I believe you've got it convoluted. Christians are called believers because they believe that Jesus is the only true way to God. Unbelievers don't. Scientific proof isn't necessary for a faithful believer, it's called "faith" for a reason. I don't know of any Christians who refuse to believe proven facts, such as the distance the the Sun, or that the earth is round. The rest of your "question" is simply an inept attempt to "prove" your vast superiority to us "ignorant Christians".

"Prove to me that evolution exists. Thats why thats called the THEORY of evolution. There is so many holes in that, theres way less in Christianity.

From a scientific-perspective."

You say a load of BS.

For scientists, "theory" and "fact" do not necessarily stand in opposition.

nothing to date either in the universe , planet or in you has been verified as pure fact; it changes day by day ; one time the world was flat and some day people in the future will laugh at what you think you know today; only a fool claims to know everything ; whose reality; the one that the moon was made of cheese , the world was flat ; martians , ET phone home

When people talk about believing, they're talking about believing in God. Not science. So, in answer, no.

To the guy 2 above me: maybe YOU should look into those fossils, and maybe into some of evolution's other factors, such as genetics.

Your question is rather vague and VOID!

Go deeper... provide examples and I can comment on each as it applies to me!

I am a Christian, like many others who believe in evolution...

Please don't generalize!!!
