You can and people do. The question to really ask is: Is this a task that we are personally up to performing when if we fail we break our new TV and we have to pay to get it fixed? If you are up to the task and can follow the manufacturer's directions then you can do it yourself. BUT I do suggest that you get the TV manufacturer's recommended lcd mounting hardware. AND I do suggest that you know how to find the right hardware and location to mount the set. Otherwise I would suggest a professional installer. It costs less to get an installer than it does to get an expensive new set and get your wall repaired too.

If you consider yourself fairly handy, then sure. It's not Rocket Science.

Me? I have trouble assembling pre-made furniture, so I try and leave stuff like installations and repairs to those who know what they are doing.
