The people who had interviewed me flew in from another state, im in nj and the company is based in ohio. theyre also still in the process in gettin a contract deals with one of the hospitals. one of the managers that was in the interview had stated though that they were about 90% done with the deal and at the end of the week they should have been done.

Not clear if anyone gave you a time frame during the interview. If they told you how long to wait, I'd wait that long, then a couple of days longer. If no time was mentioned, a week or so seems adequate. What complicates things right now is the holidays. In many places interview results slide to the back burner in that week between Christmas and New Year's. So I'd suggest you wait until January 3rd or 4th and follow-up then.

Good luck with the job!!

When you had gotten up and thanked them for their time, you should have asked when they were going to make a decision. If the person who did the interview is on duty today or tomorrow, give him/her a follow up.

Most employers allow 3 to 5 days to gather as many resumes / applicants, then 1 to 3 days of interviewing candidates, and a final decision within a week to 2 weeks from the day they announced the position. Only government takes a month (or more) to select a candidate.

I would suggest doing it no later than tomorrow; and ask him how soon he is looking to fill the position.

This is really something you should've found out on the interview.

Good Luck, I hope you get the job.
