I stand all day, with very few if not any breaks. I don't even really get to move around all that much. I was wondering if anyone had any good tips or know of any good insoles or products to help alleviate some of the pain. Thanks. BTW, I currently wear Superfeet (the green ones) purchased from Fleet Feet, which do help. *I will NOT get custom orthotics, did this once and it cost me a fortune and did absolutely nothing.

Support hose might be helpful. Be sure to get shoes that fit well and match the arch in your foot. Also...it is recommended that you replace shoes every few months in order to maintain a good level of support.

Some years ago I had the same problem.

I got the ridged arch supports from Happy Feet, they are now $70. They are machine washable (they have a fabric covering) Mine are 10 years old and I still use them daily in my closed in shoes. They fit any closed in shoes.

They totally repaired my dropping arches and Plantars Fasciitis. VERY PAINFUL!

My Husband right now is dealing with Plantars Fasciitis (the inflammation and swelling of the muscle that runs from the heel to the ball of the foot.) You have to wear them day in and day out to repair the problem.

Ice it, he rests his foot on a gel Ice pack. Till the pain stops.
Take Ibuprofen every 4 hours for the swelling, inflammation and any pain. This will help you get through the day.

Depending on the type of work you do, your shoes just aren't made for your profession. Support in the right places is esential. Dr.Sholes Gel inserts are great.

Check with your doctor at your convience he will have some great suggestions. By the way, custom shoes cost lots extra but they if solve the problem, then its money well spent.
