First of all, you're NOT a failure as a mother - you're trying your best, and that alone makes you a better mother than a huge segment of the population. Second of all, the not eating has got to stop ASAP, since it's going to be life-threatening. Since summer is coming up soon, if she's still not eating, a residential eating-disorder treatment program might be a decent option. Don't give in to the phone issue, though - if she doesn't eat for long enough, just load her in the car (she won't have the energy to resist) and make it clear if she won't get her nutrition by eating like most normal people, she'll get it through an IV in her arm. As far as school, if her grades are bad enough, enroll her in summer school, maybe get her a tutor (preferably on Friday afternoons or weekends) or supervise her studying yourself. Tell her that if she refuses to learn while she's in school, she's going to have to do that learning during her non-school free time. Also, talk to her teachers and the administrators at her school - is it possible they could mail the progress reports directly to your house, or even make a backup copy so you can About the clothes and shoes: If she looks like she crawled out of a trash dumpster... well, honestly, at this point her looking stupid is the least of your problems, and won't cause any lasting harm. Simply don't buy her new ones, and if she literally gives all of them away and has almost nothing left, go to Salvation Army or some secondhand place like that and either make her pay if she's got money or make her do chores to 'earn' the 'new' clothes. Here the aim is just to make sure she has clothing so you're not legally neglecting her, you have no obligation to make sure it's clothing she likes. And, you've said you're 'nice in regards to her friends'. Well, unfortunately, it sounds like you have to stop being so nice. Basically, grounding her and only allowing her to see friends at your house under supervision, and then only as a reward for goof behaviour, should be effective. I know she's seeing a counselor, but perhaps you could talk to that counselor since she's a minor? Or maybe some 'family counseling' that involves the two of you would be a better alternative?

Vitamin E supplements. Vitamin E is food or the skin and a supplement will work on your skin from the inside out.
You could also make a skin mask of egg yolk once a week. Egg yolk is very rich in vitamin E. Take a yolk in a small bowl with you into the bathroom and smear the yolk on your face. Wait for it to dry, which takes about 5 minutes. Then shower it off. Yolk can be stubborn to get off, which is why I recommending showering it off, which makes it a little easier and less messy.

Noxema makes a very good daily cleanser. It cleans without drying the skin.

Besides those things, drink lots of water during the day. Don't just gulp it down at one point, but sip and drink water as the day progresses. This will clean your body and your skin will benefit.

Lastly, acne is commonly brought on my stress, and being 13 is very stressful! Take about 5 to 10 minutes out of each day to break away from everything and relax to meditate. Perhaps some quiet music would help you to focus on nothing. Just sit, breathe deep, and try to clear your mind. Even if life is crazy at home, you can even use bathroom time for this. Your skin and body will feel better when you remember to take time to rest it, even in small spurts.

You need to see a dermatologist - the over-the-counter stuff you get at the drugstore isn't always good for you and probably won't do too much for you. (Some of it may makes your skin worse due to irritation and/or dryness.) Usually acne is the results of genes, not dirty skin. The dermatologist will give you many different things to try and if all else fails, will prescribe Accutane. It's a VERY powerful drug that has extremely nasty side effects but WILL wipe your acne out after a few months. Good luck! Go ask your parents to make you an appointment!

Look honey, drink a lot of water, sleep well at least 8 or 9 hours per night, use only 100% cotton for your pillow cases, and most important of all, go to Wal Mart and buy a Noxema cleansing cream and a whole package of white cotton wash towels, apply the cream all over your face with your fingers and massage in circles for about 5 minutes at least, then wash it off with the cotton towel (a little wet) 'till completly off, do this every day first thing in the morning and before going to bed, you will notice results very soon. keep that face clean, good luck! and keep me posted if it worked for you.

umm have you tried toothpaste?

you just dab some toothpaste on it and leave it there overnight and then in the morning you wipe it off

i did that until i found this magical acne stuff called "Bior`e pore perfect" blemish fighting ice cleaner and in 1 day they will be itty bitty then u do it again and that night they disappear its magic

proactive maybe unless you have tried that
a ton of ppl use that i think it does work i havent tried it

also just to help prevent acne from getting worse:

1. dont touch your face too much, the oils from your hand adds it to your skin then causeing acne

2. wash your face 2 times a day

3.dont load makeup over it...i tried that so much and you dont see them for that amount of time but then eventually it comes off and they are like MASSIVE lol and more redder

4.if you pop them, they will come back...atleast they will on me...plus i hate popping them

5.dont pick them...it irritates them

If spot cream doesn't do the trick then you're going to have to live it out or cover it with makeup when you go out.

Don't pick them as this can make them worse, and possibly leave scars.

Once you have everntually lost your acne prevent it from coming back by keeping your face clean, possibly using moisturising soap and having good hygeine in general. Good luck!

You have to calm down about this. Go to your doctor. You're 13; acne comes with the surge in your growing up.

drink lots of water a day, and i mean lots. it's a pain the the bum n borin but needs to be done. it doesn't have to be str8 water, it can be squash and very weak (orange squash, u know) . do not drink cafine as this will dehydrate ur skin. do not drink fizzys as this does the same (has cafine in it).

It's all good eatin lots of fruit to make ur self feel as though ur eating healthy but if ur not getting the other bits like fats (very minimum), carbs etc ur body will still be lacking it. it's good to have a balanced diet. fish twice a week, veg and friut every day (5 a day), red and white meat, cerials...

any way thats the hard bit, the easy bit to get ur skin looking better is...

1, don't smoke,
2, drink lots of water like i said b4,
3, don't eat the same food over and over
4, take at least a 30 min walk every day (fast ish , don't walk slow otherwise it's pointless)
chage ur pilloes and bed quil covers at least once a week (the dirt from ur skin sits on the pillow, then rubs back in to ur face when ur sleepin-ycuk isn;t it!)
5, wash ur face with a gentle wash every mornign and night
6, use a face scrub every mornign and night.
7, don't keep changing your face wash, ur skin will get used to the one u use but u have to give it a chance (at least oen month - unless ur having somekind of alleric reaction)

Try this routine...

Run your tap till the water is way too hot to feel, put ur face cloth in it, ring the face cloth out when it is just about barable to tutch, put this facecloth over your face. After this use the face scrub to wash your face (DO NOT SCRUB LITTRALLY AS THIS WILL BRING NATURAL OILS ONTO THE SURFACE CAUSING SPOTS AND BLACKHEADS), wipe this off with again, a hot cloth. then wash your face with the face wash. rinse of with warm water. After washing rinse with cold water as this closes the pores and does not let excess dirt get in. ALWAYS USE A CLEAN (THIS DOES NOT INCLUDE ONE FROM THE PREVIOUS DAY, BUT ONLY ONE FRESH FROM THE CUPBOARD) TOWEL, moiturise. sleep lots!

Proactive does help - the best advice is find a regime and do it religiously - twice a day acne free is also another brand.
If you tried everything see your MD for them to prescribe something.
