This is the question I answered:

http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;_ylt=An9x1L8_qulnBxVGyJAhFZXsy6IX;_ylv=3?qid=20071225101657AASai4P

I was given a violation for some reason.

Oh wait, I had 12 points taken from me.

I told the person not to listen to another answerer because the person gave them the wrong information and I corrected it. The answerer I corrected said that the Husky this person has is an albino when clearly it's not.

So I was reported because this person couldn't take getting corrected?

Should I answer the question again and re-correct her?

So ccourt, the Husky is one of my favorite breeds next to the Malamute, are you saying I am supposed to let inaccurate answers go by without challenge?

Would I be doing my breed justice by doing so?

2007-12-26 07:18:11 · update #1

Those of you who said you can not answer again once it's been reported are correct. I just went back to it again and the answer button is not there.

I will see about e-mailing the question asker.

Thank you to those who said that his dog is not an albino.

What if no one told this person that this dog is not an albino and he thinks there is something very wrong with this dog and brings it right to the pound?

That is the kind of damage that could happen from wrong advice if not worse.

2007-12-26 07:23:04 · update #2

ccourt, then you and I will have to disagree. I'm sorry, but I will not sit by and watch while inaccurate answers are posted.

2007-12-26 07:25:21 · update #3

So tell me ccourt, do you do anything to defend yourself or do you let people walk all over you?

That question is not meant to offend you. I am just trying to understand where your coming from that's all.

See, I was taught to fight for what I believe in and not to back down. That lesson sticks with me to this day and the reason for my answering the way I did.

Personally, I'm glad you set her straight.

Remember that it's Xmas Vacay right now, and all of the kids are home on the computer. If Daddy's Little Princess thinks you're mean now, I can't wait to see what she thinks about life when she grows up. ;)

Laugh it off. Plenty of other people who answered agreed with you.

YA does that -- someone gets their feelings hurt and even though they may be giving not only wrong information but potentially harmful, they report it and YA will automatically think it is some violation of something or another. People want to hear what they want to hear - often not the correct answser or even one close to it... If you want to give information to the poster, just click on their name an send them a message privately and maybe they will listen, but don't hold your breath :) Remember, 99% of the people you meet on YA and in the world will be essentially ignorant and you can't change them and you can't beat yourself up over it so just realize it and learn to enjoy the others that have a brain and can carry on a discourse without getting personally offended. Just answer six more questions :) make up for the idiots of the world! hahaha

add: Hey guy, you can't fix stupid... no matter how hard you want to or try. I have a breed where there ARE albinos and they are being exploited by idiots as 'rare white' when it is a known fact that they are indeed albinoid dogs... it is very sad. But the fact remains that stupid is pandemic and incurable... Yes, the ignorance will remain unchallenged and will continue... have you ever seen the movie 'Idiocricy' -- if not, rent it -- it is SO prophetic! All you can do is what you can do and you can't make people that are ignorant and want to remain that way into knowledgeable or responsible dog owners/breeders. Sorry, been working on that mountain for over fifty years and there isn't a dent in it and I think the darn thing has doubled in size! Do what you can to be a responsible, knowledgeable dog owner and advocate and you will start having to be satisfied with the ones you DO affect - they do come along and it restores your faith in mankind but boy they are few and far between!

I'm surprised that I haven't lost points on that question too since I said the same thing and pointed out that a later answerer who supported this teenybopper was probably the same person.

I think the powers that be that run this site sometimes do not really review these things. I had a problem with a little half pint jerk who had a question whether to " get a wrestling ..... or a puppy" a while back. I still think my answer was dead on as his later actions proved. He e-mailed twice threatening me as well as accusing me of various things. I reported him both times to YA. They haven't responded or taken any action though he has changed his screen name.

Hang in there. All of the answers you have given have been top notch. Don't worry about the points, i think you are like me and Loki, trying to answer legitimate questions with legitimate answers. Problem is some of these people don't want a legitimate answer. I really don't know why they ask the question in the first place. I guess you can't fix stupid.

That happens all the time just because some one dose not like your answer and it dose not agree with theirs they will give the thumbs down and reports you for no good reason! I have see it some many times just keep answering the questions and ignore the few who are just trolls as we call them.

Most are just children with nothing better to do! I answered a question earlier and it was what are you favorite dog breeds. Everyone was getting the thumbs down because others did not like that breed. Allot of immature people on this sight so just ignore them.

Don't worry about it. Lots of people don't like the answers they got & feel that reporting it as violation is their only resort cause of their narrow minds.

At this time I have someone sending me all kinds of nasty email cause my answer was not liked. People just don't like to hear the truth & live in a fantasy world. They get upset by the simplest of things. This isn't the first time & I am sure it won't be the last.

Truth is truth but some still feel wronged when they don't get the answers they want.

I have answered every email she has sent me but she feels that that is not enough. Funny how simple minded some people can be.

I would re-correct her.

Looks like Loki and a couple of others corrected them too. Some people just can't stand to be told they are wrong. If you feel you need to add more info, maybe email the asker personally and clarify. There seems to be a lot of this going on lately and unfortunately nobody is monitoring the "reports". BOL!

Someone obviously reported your answer because for whatever reason they didn't like it. And seeing as there is no proper monitoring of the report button is is abused often.

As far as I'm aware once you have had your answer removed you cannot answer again. But just take it with a pinch of salt and forget about it, don't let them wind you up.

I'm not sure about all the rules, but I sometimes read things that are so wrong....I want to scream.... but I don't. I just try to give a thorough answer so the askers can make up their own minds.

No Re-corrections. Just state your case for what you consider the correct answer.

Y!A considers a lot of answers to be violations...even though they aren't. I think I'm on my 2nd violation of the day, because I do not sugarcoat my answers, and give the hard facts.

Just so you know, this question will probably also be deleted, causing you to lose more points.

You cannot re answer the question once you have violated it. Your best bet is to see if you can e-mail the asker and give them the information privately. Also, if you feel the violation was unjust, in the notice e-mail that Y!A sends you, there is a link so that you can explain to them why it shouldn't have been deleted.

Good luck!
