He barks at everything... but mostly when people come to the door or when they just walk past outside. he is a year old... so hes fully grown.

Some people will say this is cruel, but it works and it doesn't last very long because it only takes a few times and the dog will stop barking all together.
Every time your dog barks, spray it with water. It won't take long. Just keep a squirt bottle around.

Please provide more info. WHy is he barking? Is he barking at people? Cars? You?

Does he bark when the door bell rings? etc etc. I would first start leash training, then when the dogs barks, give a MILD correction by tugging the collar and saying "no" or "shh" and giving the dog a treat when he is behaving or does not bark.

You will have to train a dog to have a well trained dog. Shock collars are a quick fix.

I can be of no help to you here. We have had more than one Chihuahua, a 3lb (I'm not sure what she was), a dachshund and a 2lb Yorkie, 3 Pekingese and all of them have barked. It seems to be something with the smaller breed dogs that they have to bark. My advise is to just learn to live with it. Look at it this way, you will never be surprised by an uninvited caller with the little critter around.

Please do not put any type of Bark Collar on such a small dog....or any dog for that matter.

Is your dog just a puppy? Did you research this breed before you got the dog? They do tend to bark a lot. I would consult a Trainer in your area.

Welcome to the wonderful world that is chihuahuas. My brother has two that never shut up.

A bark collar is only a temporary solution and as you've said they don't make them that small (because they could seriously hurt a dog that small).

You either have to get used to it or TRAIN him not to do it.
