When we realize that God knows everything from beginning to end, it does seem odd that He would do something that He knows is going to fail. But I like to think of it this way.
There was more going on before man was created than we know about. There was a war in heaven with the angels, and a third of them fell. It may very well be that God was trying to make a point to these angelic majesties that He was far more intelligent than they were, and so He came up with a plan just to show them to what lengths He would go, and the kind of love He had.
So He created Adam, knowing full well that Satan would try to destroy man, like some neighborhood bully. But even though Satan pushed man's face in the dirt and dragged him away from God and into a life of sin, God was willing to go after man and rescue him, just to show Satan that His love, His power, His wisdom and knowledge were far superior to the devil, who wanted to usurp God's authority.
I see the whole story of Adam and Eve, the covenant with Israel, the birth of Christ, the salvation of man, the defeat of Satan, the destruction of the earth, and the new millenium kingdom kind of like God's movie. He's the director, He put it together, and He knows how it's going to end. We are just actors in the play. As William Shakespeare put it, "all the world's a stage". God just happens to be the director, and the angels are the audience, watching to see how the whole show turns out.
That helps me understand why God allows things to happen the way they do.

It was more than letting it happen, it was making it happen. Paul states that men are pots, and that god is the potter, some pots are made for good, some for bad. According the bible, god made everything, in his own words he states "I make good and evil" (Somewhere in Proverbs).
He made Earth, the people on it, and 33% of all the angels in heaven that rebelled against him including the Satan, any failure of his creation, is a failure of the creator.
But the system of good and evil is *also* his creation. He could have made a paradise, he chose to make a hell out of the entire universe as we know it. Even if someone states, you cant have good without bad ... but only because that's the system made by god.
Of course, this only applied if you believe in the words of the Bible.

Aside from clearly being an allegory... [etc]
Christianity has been around for thousands of years, so don't think that you are the first person to consider the possible flaws in the religion for a few seconds. Perhaps instead of asking asinine questions you should continue thinking for few minutes, or perhaps do a bit of reading on the subject. If you would like to read about the flaws in Christianity, there are far betters ones than you are offering here. If you would like to learn about how what you're bringing up was addressed a few millennia ago, there is ample literature on the issue.
These faux-witty quips of yours are quite tired.

According to some theologians, God wanted to create a race of folk who would voluntarily choose to serve him and not just be obedient automatons that would do as they were created.
This means that an all powerful and omniscient God, who knew the outcome already, would gradually elevate those who passed certain test much like a scientist testing prototypes.
There are too many logically tortured issues with this view but millions have bought into this explanation and the bottom line for them is you either OBEY and COMPLY or simply GO TO HELL.
I for one choose not to play that game entirely since I really do believe in God.

God gave Adam and Eve brains to think for themselves. When you set down rules you expect them to be followed, what do you do to a child who disobeys? With all the beautiful things to eat in the garden of eden, Eve was not satusfied with them , she wanted more, then she gave whatever she ate to Adam. God did not tempt them. the serpent did.Your way of saying the thing with the toys is not the same.

God said "You are free to eat from any tree in the garden; but you must not eat from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, for when you eat of it you will surely die." However as already mentioned, God gave us a choice and didn`t make us robots. I believe it was a test between God and the fallen angel, Satan the serpent, to see if we would choose to obey God our Creator, or listen to Satan instead, our deceiver. As you know we failed badly by disobeying God and giving in to our lust of the flesh and eyes by eating of this beautiful fruit. As a result men now knew evil as well as good. The result of us disobeying God was our physical demise.
God is omniscient and knew before creation that we would fail. However He still loved us so much and created us different from the animal world by giving us free choice. (If I were God I probably would have done it differently, but thank God I`m not, so we won`t go there.) Eph.1:4+5 tells us "For He chose us in Him before the creation of the world to be holy and blameless in His sight. In love He predestined us to be adopted as His sons through Jesus Christ, in accordance with His pleasure and will-." The good news is that part of God`s omniscient plan was to send His Son, Jesus, to this sinful world to die for our sins on the cross, so that by simply believing and trusting in His Son Jesus, we may be rescued from the eternal consequences of this failure. This again is a sign of God`s gracious and merciful love towards us sinful humans. God loved us so much by giving us a second chance to be reunited with Him by giving us the opportuniity to accept Jesus as our personal Savior and Lord.

God created us and gave us free will. He cannot control how people act or treat others. Adam and Eve made a mistake. However, why is it only Eve's fault?

Because we are not automatons. And rules provide stability in life. And even after Lucifer rebelled,he was given the earth to rule until eternity comes for mankind. That's just and fair.We all have a choice to serve one of two masters.Choose this day whom you will serve.

Well, God didn't creat two robbots to control. He created humans and gave them free will wheather to follow Him or not. The sign of following Him was not eating from the tree.
Good Luck!!
