I did a slide show to (a shortened version) of "Rhapsody in Blue," and it was fun to match the tempo of the music to my photos (action shots for the fast parts, portraiture and landscapes for the slower parts). And it's hard to go wrong with jazz! But if your mother has a song that's special to her (like "Baby Mine," or I also LOVE Israel K's version of "Somewhere Over the Rainbow/ It's a Wonderful World") then it would be touching to use that. For example, my Mom used to sing "You Are My Sunshine" to us as a lullaby. I think you've come up with a wonderful Mother's Day present! Have fun!
