It is a real Russian name, meaning "daughter of Svetlana", just as Ivanovich means "Son of Ivan".

If it's a name it must be capitalized. Sounds like a Russian name but not the "daughter of Svetlana" (Russians only have patronymics not matronymics - hehe). It's most likely either the feminine form or the genitive (possessive) case of the family name Svetlanov - one famous Svetlanov was composer Evgeny Svetlanov.

Or like Pavlova, daughter of Pavlov.
The suffix -ova means daughter of.
just as ovich means son of. There are different ones, though, and I don't know them all, but the Russian naming system is like a huge labyrinth. You really have to know your way around to undrestand it. Ever try to read a Russian novel? Everyone has, like ten different names, depending on who is doing the speaking and their relationship with the subject.
