It's not just Atheists. Unfortunately their are many people who tend to stereotype others based on their observations of a few. These are people who think that all southerners are rednecks, anyone who drinks alcohol is an alcoholic (unless they also drink alcohol), All Blacks will steal everything not nailed down, all Jews are rich, All Moslems want to kill anyone who is not Moslem...etc. They are victims of their own closed minds. Many "Christians " also fall into this category. The question asked falls into this same category, accusing all Atheists of thinking Christians are hypocrites. They are all examples of a closed, poisoned mind.

Maybe some people think because they are a Christian they are perfect. Or maybe some people think that to be a Christian you need to be perfect. Either way it is impossible. We are all sinners. To many Christians try to put the image out there that they do no wrong. When you are born again you are only more aware of your sin. And you are forgiven. Coming from a born again Christian. It was a much easier to sin, before I came to know God. But I wouldn't trade my new life with Jesus as my Lord for anything in this world.

Anyone can stereotype Christians, not just Atheists. So don't stereotype yourself! A bit hypocritical yourself, I see. You just answered your own question. But more of showing that you are a stereotypical hypocrite.

There are broad stereotypes on both sides of this question. It won't stop until we actually listen to each other and try to understand each other rather than blame each other for our problems. If you want to change someone's belief of your image, then behave in the way you want to be seen. Practice what you preach no matter WHAT you believe. Live well, be kind, be generous, and do good works.

I really dislike questions like this, because it opens the floodgates for believers and non-believers (of God) to bash each other instead of having honest discussion.

It works in both directions. I have been called a hypocrite more times than I can count simply based on generalizations about atheism. In short, it is often the less educated and insecure that fall victim to name calling and stereotyping.

Why do Christians stereotype atheists as evil, unintelligent and naroow-minded? If u Christians would actually take the time to first find out what atheists are really about before being critical, u might learn something.

You just stereotyped atheists as stereotypical of Christians.

Why do you stereotype atheists as people who stereotype Christians as hypocrites?

All generalizations are wrong, including this one.

I am an atheist, but I don´t stereotype Christian as hypocrite.

Some of them, may be.

The others are only confused by an heritage of centuries of brainwashing.
