I grew up Christian, but changed to the Wiccan religion (christian-wiccan actually). In my experience, Christianity itself (and some other similar religions) make God out to be selfish and opinionated. "Do it my way or go to hell" is the impression that's given. And I also get the impression of "live life my way or go to hell".

I happen to think God is more open minded and libral than we give him credit for. I practice witchcraft. The Bible says that's the devil, but there is no devil in the craft. The Bible was written by man, not God, even though the men who right it state that "God spoke through me". Um, sure. Wouldn't make more sence that God would want us to live our lives in a way that would make us feel comfortable when worshiping him? For instance, I worship the Lord in nature, because he created it. What are your thoughts? I'm just curious to see the answers, not looking for an answer regarding my own beliefs. I like a good debate.

You sound like you're a Christian with a strong foundation in Christian environmentalism and mysticism.

I see NOTHING in your post that would indicate you do anything Wiccan.

Please find another religion to play at other than Wicca. We Wiccans have a perfect religion as is, it doesn't need to be "fixed" by adding Christianity to it.

The short answer is of course, however I have problems with referring to god as if the spirit has gender.
I further believe that 'God' which I prefer to call the 'Spirit', did indeed speak to these men,as he does to every man,as it does to you.
The only reason one can't hear it, is the incessant chatter of self conversation. We are constantly worrying about this or that and always making plans. The self conversation drowns out the voice of the spirit, which can be easily heard. However, because of this constant chatter, we don't recognise the spirit when we hear it. The Spirit has no desires whatsoever, however, it will honor any of our desires if we have accumilated enough 'personal power'. If one is not living an impeccable life and is full of petty concerns, then one can espect nothing from the Spirit, and has no hope of invoking the spirit.
Most socalled experts on the Bible haven't a clue as to what the Bible is really saying. Without a full understandig of aligory, with a full understanding of the tool known as parable then the content of the old testiment can never be understood. You need to understand that the names in the old testiment had meaning; they were not just names like we have today. You must also realize that until you translate the names found in a story then reread the story with the interpitation, you wll not have understood what the writer was trying to convey.

God holds fast to the truth but God is also merciful. There is only one Way...and it is absolutely free. Unbelievable, isn't it?

This is the crux of the whole matter.

Why not take hold of it, learn more about it, reject everyone who abuses it, sacrifice yourself to it, all for the Glory of He who gave the gift and for the salvation of others.

Intolerant? yes. Profoundly against everything we hold dear? Yes. God will save people who we don't think deserve it whether we like it or not...shall we rank ourselves as those who don't deserve it so that we can all be equal in death and equal in life?

You will never be any more or less holy than the moment God reveals himself to you because from that point forward you are identified and judged by the Blood of our Lord....and nothing else. How thankful should we be to serve the Living God?

This is pure and holy...like nothing else man has concieved or imagined.

I believe everything in the bible is from the mouth of God. God made us for fellowship to abide in and worship him from the start but man in his pride wanted more, he wanted to be just like God, knowing good and evil. Man's disobedience is what got him the boot out of the garden of Eden. You are worshiping the created instead of the creator. God wants the very best for us, has from the start. That's why I love God ,my father more than life its self.

I like it when you say you worship God in nature because he created it ..yes that is very correct and that what God asked us in the Quran to do .. to watch and ponder and praise Him for all the beautiful things he created.
Black magic is a devilish work i don't really know if it is the same like witchcraft ..
About God is more liberal than we think ..I will call it He is very very wise and all knowing and very merciful and very severe with bad people and disbelievers..as a general I love Him for His attributes.

Yes, I think God is!

I heard somebody say that we should read the Bible the way we eat fish. Carefully. Pick out the meat and throw the bones and just try to be careful with it.

However, at the same time, we can't be "Cafeteria Christian's/Catholics" and simply pick things we like and don't like, or agree with and disagree with.

I think that if there really were a god overseeing all of creation, that it would be rather arrogant for anyone to presume to know his mind. So sure, he could be more liberal, or more war-like, more loving, or more angry, who knows. I often see people say things like "god hates that", as if they speak on behalf of gods hatred or something. How easy it would be for an omnipotent being to show himself and put an end to the questions we all have, but I don't think that will ever happen.

Christian Universalism does not teach the existence of an eternal hell. Jesus' sacrifice is meant to save us from death and is for all. Here are some resources for anyone interested in Christian Universalism:

I do not believe in an all-knowing God who would create you and knowingly send you to hell.....

I believe in a creative conscience force, that I am not separate from...but a part of. I am not better then it and it is not better then me....it is me!

Wicca is a beautiful religion that is earth-based, something most people limit to their way of believing.

Amen. God is WAY more liberal than we give him/her credit for. Jesus was/is one of the most radical people who has ever lived. Love your enemy? Turn the other cheek? Radical! Liberal!
