Basically, my bf and I are part of this group of mates, so it's a bit like a gang. My bf does cannabis occasionally, as do a few others in the group, but there's one guy who's really into the heavy stuff. Thing is now, ok, my sister's just been staying at her boyfriend's - who's part of this group as well - and he's decided he's not going because somebody's grassed up on the group and said they're gonna be doing really heavy stuff, and now the police are waiting to catch them. So on New Year's Eve the gang are going off into the woods to basically have this party, and some them will be smoking a bit of weed, nothing too much, but this guy who's into drugs seriously is gonna bring his mates along and they're gonna do some really havy stuff. My boyfriend says he won't try any of it though. But I don't want my boyfriend to get hurt! My sister said not to tell him about the police being there because that means it'll scare away the guys who need to be caught. Should I tell him about it?!

And thing is, if I tell him and then he tells the others, they'll get scared and decide not to go to the party thing, and I have to admit I'd like them to get caught... but I really need to tell my bf! And what if my sis finds out I've told him? She'll never trust me again.

Thanks for all your answers! Another thing I meant to add is that I'm not going to this party... I don't do drugs and I never will. My bf says he doesn't even have enough money to buy anything so I really don't think he will...

Hi Christine. It is a well known fact that all types of drugs unless prescribed are unlawful and anyone caught with any amount can and will be prosecuted. So no matter if you want the police to catch the people who are on high level drugs to be caught, if your boyfriend is there. no matter what he has, will come under the same category. If you decide to go with them, I'm afraid your climbing up the same tree and we all know that trees eventually fall down also your sister is involved not a good thing for a family to have to go through. Your boyfriend may say at the moment he won't touch any of the hard stuff, but once you have been smoking weed, your more than likely to succumb to the pressures of your peers. My suggestion to you is not only to tell your boyfriend about the forth coming event, also try and get yourselves off drugs altogether. It only may be for fun, but you read so many news articles where small time drug users become big time game. is this the way you want to live you life???? Best wishes and a Happy New Year. Peter

Don't tell him - if he is truthful and is not going to do any of the heavy stuff he should get off with a minimum sentence - although if he is working he could well lose his job.
But if you do tell him HE will tell someone else and no-one will get caught.
He sounds like he needs a little sense introduced to him & it sounds like being caught by the police is the only way to do that.

OF course you should tell him ... that is unless you want to see him go down in the fall of your gang of friends.
I would avoid this party too! When the police are involved, things have gone to far and that is usually when the Innocent get hurt!

Why did your sister tell you? Maybe you should tell the police that your sister can't be trusted... what is she smoking? Anyway, I'm not into smoking and such, I'm already addicted to life and many sensual persuits, but if I had a chance to help my gf out of a awkward position, I'd tell her, and let her decide to tell her friends or not.

I think maybe you should tell him, say you have heard a rumour about the police being there, as if the police turn up and your boyfriend is there, even if he is only doing weed, the police will assume he is doing the harder stuff, and arrest him, and he may get a caution.

The soft stuff leads into the harder stuff. Tell your boyfriend to keep away on this night and let the police do their work. One pusher off the street is one vermin less to prey on others. You are entering murky waters here and it could be that your boyfriend is already beyond listening to you.

Your bf lied. The only reason people go to things like that is to use...and to use the strongest/best/most. Don't tell him about the cops. Just tell him not to go, and ask him to do something with you. If he prefers to do drugs rather than do you, let the cops have him.

if you care about your boyfriend, and anyone else in the group, tell them. Is it really worth being arrested, having dna taken, possibly being charged and getting a record?

if your bf loves and trusts you surely you can tell him and in return he can go and say nothing as you are showing you care for him.let the other fools get caught they deserve it. hope you do make the right decision.good luck.
