I mean as a Christian I do not support gays or lesbians let alone bisexuals, however that is not to say that i hold a grudge against them, in fact I've met some realy nice people who are gay although i see their sexual preference as a problem that they have. As a christians we do not hate those who have a problem, but actually give our hearts to them to help them change. I want to listen to your opinions , thank you.

And also, for those of you that say that it is not a problem, i am just mentioning this because the bible is against homosexuality, so I would guess that those who don't agree are therefore not believers in the almighty.

Let me extend my point a bit, what I mean of homosexuality as a problem is the fact that lets compare it to a drug addict. a drug addict is not neccesarily a bad person as well as gays. Many of u argue that gays r born not made, but i believe the opposite, just like in drugs we are not born liking them but once we are influenced upon them we are trapped. Havent u seen that most gays come out of the closet late in their life? because of the sorrounding influeneces. just like little kids a natural attraction for playing with little cars rather than dolls, most little kids feel an attraction to girls not boys. So gays are made not born. Think about GOD why would he not allow two men to have babies? why do u think gay people suffer so much? Because it is not ment to be.

Do not get me wrong, I ACCEPT this people , I dont't look away when they come, in fact I have a bi friend, and ive constantly talked to her about but she just doesnt care. And also I still like the series and respect Dumbledore, but I am merely adressing a part of him that i think is a problem.

Someone pointed out that it does not matter because we are all eaqual in god's eyes, and that is true, in fact we being equal we all have problems, i of course do, but it does not concern homosexuality. If u want to know mine then good ill tell you: I watch pornography and although i like it, my conscience tells me that it is wrong, and Ive recognized it as a problem to be fixed, just like in this case homosexuality is.Does porn make me a less person? no, i still have great values, I love god and he loves me as much as he loves a gay man. and since we r equal that gay man and me have problems or in other words sins (according to bible)

As a Christan I would hope you would reanalyze how you asked this question. No matter how much people want to try and make this topic about religious morals and values. It's more of a personal question and matter for each of us. It seems kind of judgmental to me the way that you asked this question. You, yourself pointed out in your own question that "Christan do not hate but actually give their hearts to people they perceive to have a problem." For some people this is no problem. Does that make them any less moral or have less value because they think and feel differently from you? The bible points out specifically that we should all love each other unconditionally. Whether gay, lesbian, bisexuals or other, we are all people and equal in the lords eyes.

Updated response:
You honestly are trying to rap your mind around this subject, so I’ll try to help give you some more food for thought. You say you believe that gays are made and not born, right? If that is so, why would the lord create the same sexual behaviors in other animals such as bulls, horses, dogs, cats, birds, some species of fish and so on. As for why do homosexuals come out of the closet later in life? Society at large says it’s wrong to be different. This is one of the most prolific problems we face today in our culture in my opinion. If the world were the other way round and everybody said it was wrong to be straight, you may understand why a lot of men and woman deny to themselves and everybody around them, their true sexual identity. Something within each of us wants to be excepted by other people. I hope you don’t take offense to this, but the bible is loosely written at best. An intelligent person could make the bible say just about anything without even really trying. Look at history of the world, we’ve had ages of war over different people’s interpretation of scripture. My personal opinion is just as I stated before, try to be good to all people no matter how different they are from you. Whether it be skin tone, sexual preference or religious affiliation and so on. Tolerance is key in today’s society as is compassion.

I think being a Christian is not being judgemental and I embrace the gay community as people just like me. I feel no differently toward Dumbledore or anyone else because they are gay. I do not see a sexual preference as a problem regardless of what it is. Some people think different kinds of sex (anal and oral for instance) is depraved. Live and let live and to each his own. Is it any different to look down on someone or feel better than them? Hate is at least honest and out there.
The Bible is not against homosexuality. Someones interpretation of it is. I am Christian, straight but not narrow.

As a Christian, I still love the Harry Potter series. It's a great series for kids to read, and watch. It's just like any other book that deals with things that many think don't exist. I KNOW that there is no such thing as magic, and giants, and witches and wizards. I tell my children that, and they are allowed to read and watch them as well. My children know that there are different people and cultures in the world. They know that just because something is different, doesn't make it wrong. I love my friends that are gays and lesbians the same way that I do my friends that are straight. I respect them, and who they are. There is nothing different about them, than there is for me. They are probably more normal than I am. It's very frustrating. This is just a book. Nothing more. It is up to the parents to make sure that if they don't agree with something like the Harry Potter series, that they watch what their kids are watching and reading.

I don't know if anyone's read, "The Other Boleyn Girl" but George, Anne and Mary Boleyn's brother discovers that he's gay. It's not something people can control and it is not a problem. Gays and Lesbiens can't help being what they are. Like, maybe you are fair skinned. You can't control that. Like the Civil Rights movement--people couldn't help being black. They just were what they were and today it's not a problem. Being gay should not be a problem today, either.

I am Christian and your question bothers me greatly. A person who is homosexual (gay or lesbian) does NOT have a problem. They are who they are and no one else has any right to judge them. And this Christian (that's me) isn't going to try and change anyone!

Addition: The Bible also calls for people to be stoned to death. Do you go around stoning people to death? No? Why not -- Aren't you a true believer in the Almighty??

First of all I really didn't appreciate J.K. Rawlings saying what she did when we had all read the books and our children had read the books. But there again, Dumbledore never acted out of his homosexuality and for us Christians isn't that the way it is meant to be? Love the sinner hate the sin! And I don't want any flack from anyone who didn't ask this question - I am entitled to my opinion like everyone else and I hate no one.

being gay lesbian or bi is not a problem at all. if that is your thoughts on the matter, ill let you have them. because unlike a christian, i am NOT intolerant of someone being different or thinking differently than me. because THAT is truly a problem, not sexual preference.

as far as dumbledore, i think hes a fine character, and that him being gay does not change that at all for me. it hardly even changes how see the story.

i dont think there's anything wrong with being gay. I absolutely love and adore the gay guys I know. If you're too narrow minded to accept gays and lesbians then I don't know what to do with you people. Its pretty much the same as racism if you as me and its a shame that you're not using your brain and simply doing what some book tells y ou to think.

well i am a christian too. And i no what it is like to be judged. I was friends with everyone i knew and i got along with everyone around me, but when they knew i was a christian i got alot of nasty things from them. Now although christians are not ment to support gays etc, i know what it is like to be judged and i think that they should be left to whatever they want to do because they are only human and it hurts to be sectioned by anyone no matter who you are.

Im bi, Its not a problem, And im not embarrased about it, I like guys i like girls.. Why does it matter? Its not like im gunna hit on a straight girl or anything. I think you saying that is really wrong and pathetic, Im not saying you should be gay/bi, But what does it matter to you? I dont need to change because of it, Im happy with who i am. Dont judge people because of it, They dont choose who there attracted to. Your so shallow minded.. Whats your problem.
