I'd go with a Remington 700 instead of an A-Bolt. The hinged floorplate magazine is a lot better than the detachable magazines the A-Bolts have. I just got one in .30-06 and it is sweeeet. Also, the Remingtons aren't as expensive, but are every bit as good. I don't know how much the Buckmaster goes for, but if you want to spend around $300 for a scope, buy a lower-end Leupold. Just my opinion, though...there are a zillion different rifle/scope/brand combos people recommend that are good, and yours sounds pretty awesome. Most hunters would be stoked to have it.

I myself have a Browning A bolt in a 7mm. Excellent rifle!!! If you get the chance, check and see how sloppy some of the other rifles bolts are then try the A bolt. the A bolt is a very tight, well built rifle and is extremely accurate out to 3-400 yards, plus there is not much you cant hunt in the United States or anywhere with it for that matter. Get the A bolt. Its a little more money, but alot more rifle. Good Luck!

If that's what you like and are comfortable with, then yes, it is a good set up. But, I think the 7mm mag is overkill for deer. It has a lot of recoil and is just too much for deer sized game. But again, if it is what you want, then work at mastering it and yes, it will work. BUT, I'd offer my experience and say that I went thru the "magnum faze" the 30-06 faze etc many years ago. then, 30 years ago I settled on the .270 Winchester cartridge and have since taken antelope, mule deer, elk, wild boar and black bear with it, and have never regretted it. My 150 grain bullet will travel farther, faster and flatter than a 30-06 with a 165 grain bullet, and the recoil is stout, but much much less than that 7mm mag. My long time hunting partner switched over to a .308 winchester when he injured his shoulder and could not take the recoil of a magnun anymore. I watched him take trophy mule deer, black bear and elk with it. And it has a very nice recoil and is accurate. My advice would be yes to the rifle/scope package but reconsider the 7mm mag for a deer cartridge.

it sounds like a nice setup
i would go to a dealer and get it cuz even tho you save a little bit online it still has to be shipped to a dealer and most of them charge a fee for doing the transfer so you really dont save as much as you think when ordering online. last time i looked into buying online it ending up being the within a few dollars of the local dealer once i added the shipping and transfer fees. talk to a local dealer and even if they dont have what you want they can most likely order it for you then you dont have the extra charges.

Forget about the Magnum.* Your two (2)* best choices of calibers are the 30-06 or 308.* I prefer the Remington or Savage Brands.* The 7mm is not an appropriate caliber for what you will be Hunting.* The 30-06 or 308 will harvest any game in North America cleanly and effectively.* It is to much rifle for what you will be Hunting.* The vast majority of big game is harvested at 100 yards or less.*

Get a Mosin Nagant 91/30 Russian bolt action rifle. they're incredibly collectable and you pay approximately $7 for a field of 20 deer shells for it while you're able to pay someplace between $sixteen-$25 for an identical sort of bullets in a "classic" looking rifle. Take my notice for it, the Mosin Nagant isn't appropriate yet its rattling close. reckoning on the place you reside you are able to %. one up for roughly $one hundred-$a hundred and twenty and it is actual nicely worth it. It comes with a bayonet (no longer which you will choose one for looking in keeping with say) and it must be between the simplest, maximum precise bolt action rifles I even have ever used. i think of that its super for a beginner. (which you look) additionally in case you get to the shop and the single i've got pronounced may be too long for you (theyre approximately as long as a musket) you additionally can get a carbine version which sacrifices accuracy in simple terms relatively, even though it is actual less demanding to wield able the place there is thick shrubs or a super sort of timber. maintenance is amazingly ordinary, it comes with a cleansing rod fastened under the barrel which will adapt any bore brush and removing the bolt is incredibly undemanding, all you would be able to desire to do is pull the set off perplexing and carry it then pull lower back on the bolt on an identical time as its open and it will slide ideal out making it relatively ordinary to scrub. another useful function is which you will cock the gun without biking the action. there's a flange on the lower back of the bolt which you will draw close and pull and which will draw lower back the firing pin. reckoning on your tastes those weapons dont appear as if plenty yet they're relatively the AK-forty seven of bolt action rifles. I.E. handy and virtually invincible. A testomony to this rifle is the certainty that for the duration of WWII no longer in simple terms develop into it the prevalent concern infantry weapon for the Soviet military it develop into additionally an identical weapon that Vassily Zaitsef (a widespread Russian sniper from WWII) killed extra beneficial than one hundred German officers at ranges of as much as 1000+ yards. have faith me as quickly as I say that i understand from journey, the Mosin Nagant would be around perpetually even however they dont cause them to anymore. it is a fine looking piece for a gun cabinet treasure and ideal for killing deer.

If you decide to get this gun, I would go to the gunshop and have them order it, because you will get a better quality, if it comes through the regular mail, it will get banged up.
