I feed Jez 2 cups of dry pedigree adult food, and half a pouch of pedigree puppy wet food, 2 times a day. ( This was vet recomended )

What do you feed your dog? What kind of dog is it?

I feed my Boston Terrier Canidae All Life Stages Dry food with some canned Merrick food (3/4 dry to 1/4 wet).

I would suggest switching to a much higher quality food other than Pedigree. That is a pretty low quality food. Vets don't always suggest the BEST food. Mine suggested Science Diet which I fed my dog for years but I found out that he sold SD at the practice.

I don't have an American Bulldog, but, I did do a lot of reasearch on dog foods before I got my Lab. Blue Buffalo is not a bad dog food, even though someone else said it is. My Lab ate it for 5 or 6 months and was always commented on how healthy his coat was. I switched to Canidae All Life Stages when I adopted a little Yorkie mix so that both dogs could eat the same food. Both dogs love it and are very healthy on it. Look at the ingredients and spend a little time online researching dog foods. You have been given some really good information and links in previous answers. Best of luck to you and your dog.

My dogs eat a raw diet with supplemental canned Innova EVO and Solid Gold Green Tripe.

Pedigree is junky food by the way. Most vets don't know much about vet nutrition (trust me, I'm a vet student, we get bought and sold by the pet food industry VERY early in vet school!!). Stay away from foods with corn, wheat, soy, sorghum, by products, artificial colors and preservatives (BHA/BHT/ethoxyquin). These include Pedigree, Purina, IAMS, Science Diet, etc. Good foods are Canidae, Chicken Soup, Merrick, The Honest Kitchen, Innova EVO, A Taste of the Wild, Wellness Core, etc. Basically, anything that you can buy in Wal-Mart is bad news.

Canidae, it is a dry cereal dog food and extremely highly rated for nutrition and vitamins. It is ranked much higher then Pedigree.

Our dog gets a Eucenuba Weight Management formula from the vet's office, but only because it helps control her diabetes, too. If it weren't for that, she'd just get Ol' Roy.

I feed my three shelties Pro Plan Chicken and Rice formula. I also add non-fat plain yogurt, cottage cheese and canned meat on top of their dog food. Please no thumbs down, it's up to the owner to feed their dogs. My dogs coats are healthier than before and my picky eater loves Pro Plan.

I buy my dog premium brand dog food. Since she is older (about 15) and a large breed dog I buy her Purina One senior dog formula and I follow the directions on the bag for her weight as to how much of it she gets a day.
