Great question.

As a former Christian, I used to believe that most of them just hadn't experienced what I had experienced. I believed that most of them were just running through life, without really considering God and that they were lost in immoral behavior and sin.

I was wrong.

I now know that most of them, have actually really considered my old belief system and the belief systems of other faiths. They chose to reject them because of throughtful analysys, not ignorance.

Not necessarily. I think there are a number of reasons they took the wrong road.
Too much time spent in the wrong place.
Disappointment in what they perceive as unanswered prayers.
And so forth. Each has his/her own personal reason.
It's a pity they will not accept the love of God, but remember, they cannot control their inclusion in the resurrection.

Converse to the above poster, I used to be atheist and now am Christian.

I think that atheists judge all Christians on personal experiences that they may of had with someone who may have mistreated them and been a Christian.

I don't think a lot know about how scientific-based Christianity actually is.

I would have to say no, because of their use of miss quotes where Christianity is concerned

Judging from the many missquotes, verses taken out of contex, and just our right lies, I don't think that the average atheist know much about anything.
