Three years ago, my wife had a small pimple on the middle of her chest. She did pop it out, but it's been growing bigger and bigger. Now, she says that it starts bothering her. A year ago, I took her with a doctor, he said it was a sort of skin infection but if for some reason she takes it away it will grow even bigger. Can you let me know, if you know more about it, please?

The doctor is "right" but he's also "wrong".

Make an appointment with a specialist Dermatologist. They deal with skin disorders and can best diagnose your wife's "pimple". My guess it is a "sweat gland" or "fat cell". Both of these can be eliminated in the doctor's office with little "to do" about it.

If it is something worst, well the Dermatologist knows exactly what needs to be done. It could be a node which may or may not show a malignant condition in the making. If the node is benign, the specialist will tell you. Let the specialists do their trade and all will be well and mental stress can be reduced or eliminated. It's worth an office visit.

She needs to go back to the doctor and get a second opinion. This isn't a pimple or an skin infection. I think the doctor just had no idea what it was and just guessed. Take her to a dermatologist, they'll know what to do. My husband had a bump on his back, we thought it was a pimple but now it's just a huge bump and it's been there for 4 years. He doesn't care to have it checked, just ignores it.

Three years? I doubt if it's a pimple since those ussually dry up within weeks. Sounds more like some type of severe acne disorder and those are ussually treated with some type of anti-biotics like tetracycline or some such other.

If its a mere cyst, then those are ussually busted open and cleaned out with peroxide and a large swab-like Q-tip but you really need to see a dr on this one for sure.

She needs to see a doctor. If it has not gone away on its own in 3 years, it is unlikely to go away now. Millions of people have had growths removed without any side effects.

See another doctor - fast! I wouldn't let a thing like that happen for 2 minutes longer. You are entitled to another opinion - and your wife is certainly more entitled to a better answer and solution. Go see somebody else.

It sounds like a cyst, possibly with a severe staph infection. She needs to see a new doctor right away.

It might be a sebaceous cyst, which needs to be lysed and squeezed out. To prevent it from reforming, the wound should be packed with sterile dressing during the healing process. A doctor needs to perform this and would advise you on how to handle the wound.
