You mean a lawyer was not chasing you down in the ambulance???? lol..Do you have insurance? Accident claims are usually paid out after all bills.Don't settle with his insurance company too soon.....get a good lawyer..it won't cost you .......they work off of recovery like 33%. Lawyers love these because they don't have to prove fault......Go to ER or Doctor and tell him you were in car accident by someone blasting a stop sign at 60mph..and write down all you remember NOW about accident in a diary..times,dates,money,bills,car damage,pictures,witnesses...be a detective and write down all details....I know...been there...and if he has State Farm insurance..they will try to screw you. They will call you and ask to settle in 1 or 2 days.

I know you have already recieved a lot of answers, but this was too close to home for me.... I was in a car accident May 2006. I felt fine when it happened, the pain set in later. I have learned that pain that sets in over a period of days later is often more serious than immediate pain. You need to report the accident to your car insurance IMMEDIATELY if you haven't already. Yes, the other guys' insurance does have to pay even though you didn't go to the doctor right away. When you go to the doctor, if it isn't on the forms, tell them that you are there because of an accident. Hold on to every little bill, prescription, everything. You may have to pay upfront, but you will get reimbursed. Talk to your doctor about how to handle it, he should be able to tell you. If not, your car insurance agent can help you.
Here it is a year and 7 months later for me and I am still in pain, and it was a very minor accident. Hopefully that won't be your case, but I regret the way I handled my case. If it starts to look like it might be ongoing, please please get an attorney right away. If you are concerned about money, those "ambulance chasers" you see on t.v. don't make you pay anything upfront, shouldn't make you pay anything at all, and don't make you pay if your case doesn't win. Check them out. I wish you the best of luck. I didn't go about things in the right way and that accident has made my life a living nightmare even though it was nothing more than a fender bender. Good luck! I hope you get the help you need!

Well, first even if your not in pain ALWAYS get checked out! His insurance unfortunately will not pay for you to go to the doctor, you would have to foot the bill for now. After the claim is filed eventually it might pay out. The best thing to do is gather his insurance information call his company and tell them what is going on. They are the only ones that can give you the best action to take. Also, if you make the company aware EARLY that you are in pain, the better chance you have of getting them to pay for it later.

I got hit when I was at a complete stop and the lady didn't have insurance. I ended up going to the ER and I had a strained neck and back. It was uncomfortable for a long time. It happened in September and I still sometimes have discomfort. I went to a chiropractor and a physical therapist. My insurance ended up having to pay because she didn't have any. I would think his insurance would have to pay for your bills because it was his fault. If nothing is wrong when you go to the ER they will probably just give you some muscle relaxors. Use ice to help with the pain. Also ibeprofen works well for inflammation. Good luck.

You need to inform your insurance company of the injuries you need treatment for.You should also inform his company of your injuries There are many times the injuries come to the surface a day or a week after the accident, You're on adrenaline after the accident. It hides lots of pain. I was in a similar accident except he hit the passenger door at 60 mph , i was spinning like a top and snacked into the door and window, the next morning i could hardly move. His insurance company told me to go to the hospital and they had arranged to have the bill paid by them.

Do you have insurance? You will have to use yours at first. If you have PIP protection on your insurance policy, call them right away and get that set up. You can go to the doctor anytime you want to, even if it's a day later. I think the limit is 2 years. I was in an accident 9 months ago and am just now having pains in my neck. It happens. File a claim on his policy and go see a doctor. You'll get reimbursed from his insurance policy eventually.

Just go back to the hospital, happens all the time, a person gets in a car accident, and feels okay , the next day they feel bad. Whiplash isn't something that happened at the time, the symptoms happen a day or two later.

If you got his numbers, call his ins. co. Whatever, go and go now. Last time I said forget it; next day I had brain surgery to stop th bleeding. I didn't get her info and the whole thing was a real hassle. The bill was $63,000. If a doctor doesn't order X-rays, MRIs, etc, get a new doctor. I always thought that whiplash was just a game lawyers play, but it can kill you.

Usually the pain and stiffness is worse 24-48 hours after that kind of accident. When it happened to me I didn't go until the next day and the other guys insurance did cover it when I went to ER...but not my chiropractic bills. But its easiest to go same day for that kind of accident even if you don't hurt yet.

First thing I would do is call your insurance agent and tell him about your pain when it started and that you need to see a Dr. I assume you called your insurance company last nite or this morning correct.??
I'm sure they will agree with you and let him/her help you figure out who will pay the medical bills...
