I am not by any way saying all guys are like that, but I am 20 years old and i am in college, and I thought that the people (guys in particular) would be more mature. From what I have noticed is that everyone wants to hook up with each other. There are very "few" guys who want a relationship. Should I continue to wait or go for older men. I am not trying to be rude to those who are promiscious, but it's just that men don't seem to want a woman who is not sleeping around with different men. I don't get it. Answers from both males and females are welcome.

most guys from 18 - 21 ish are generally out for one thing.... which is easier to get from a "promiscious woman." We grow up and realize we were stupid.
some faster than others, and some never.
(it goes the same way with women 18-21 but its maybe not as obvious)

Yes, of course that's men for you. I'm not surprised that the college men are like that. Most of them have no time for a relationship with school work and all, so they seek the easy girls that they can just get with for 'one thing'.
Which is absolutely no exscuse at al!
I seriously think they've been watching too much American Pie, lol.
Also the other problem could be the type of men you're interested in.Do not, I repeat, do not go for the extremely attractive, popular guys that every friggin girl in the school goes after. I learned this the hard way back in High School days. Try for a smart conservative guy that's decent looking but doesn't really deal with many girls or guys that will talk him down to getting dirty with some girl. You never want a man that every other girl wants, bc this just calls for drama, and ou're only asking to get your heart broken!

Guys aren't looking for girls who are promiscious or sleeping around with different men. They just want girls who will sleep with them. They aren't too concerned with the fact that you are promiscious or not. If you give them a chance, then they like you. If you don't want to sleep with any guys who you feel aren't in it for the long run and a relationship, then don't...just wait. Older guys are no different than younger guys, well they might be worse.

At that age most guys, not all, are looking for satisfaction to there urges. They are experiencing their first taste of freedom. Just stick to what you feel is right for you. You will eventually win out. These guys around you now will grow up and change. It is just the age. You might want to also change where you are meeting guys if where you are doing it now isn't providing you with what you are looking for. Good luck.

Because, as you point out they are shallow or immature. But there are mature, sincere men out there your age. You are probably hanging out with the wrong crowd. Get involved with some clubs that do things for others. And remember this. no man will take a sl*t home to meet his mother.

You're just connecting with the wrong guys. Believe it or not, there are many men with similar values that you have, you just have to look in the right place. Don't go to the nightclub expecting to meet nice guy.

Many guys in their early 20s are still trying to "sew their wild oats." It's a guy thing, and honestly it is becoming more acceptable for women to do the same.
