I have had Traveler's for home, auto and business for in excess of twenty years. The ultimate measurement of an insurance company is how well they pay their claims. We have filed claims for damages to our home and one complete total loss on an automobile. They were fast, advanced funds, stood behind the repairs. They created no problems, just solutions. I periodically compare rates with companies like State Farm. State Farm can't come close. Be sure to combine all coverages with them for even greater savings

I have read that Traveler's rated the lowest for the hurricane Sandy victims. They came in tenth out of a list of ten. I have been quoted by a broker for a car and home policy and the rates were good. The thing is, you only know how good an insurance company is when you need them. I lost my home to a fire last year and after twenty years with Amica Insurance they dropped me. (the fire was not caused by neglect.. )
So..I guess you have to ask around and go with your gut. Unfortunately they can drop you at any time for any reason. What a racket.

RE :Is Travelers insurance company good?
We are shopping around for home owners & car insurance. Travelers is coming in cheaper & with more coverage than other places. I have not heard of them before (which doesn't mean anything) but Wiki has a lot of good things to say about their company. Curious on personal experiences & recommendations!

I have had Travelers for my auto and home owners insurance for 10 years. They have been great. We have had one bad hail storm that damaged both the car and the house. They were so easy to work with and paid what they were suppose to. At this point I wouldn't use anyone else.

I had Traveler's Insurance for 2 cars and renters insurance. I thought they were great, until my husband got a ticket, with 1 point and they dropped us immediately. I actually found better rates with Allstate.

We have travelers and are filing a claim with them. They are terrible! We have a cracked pipe in the upstairs bathroom that has ran downstairs to the kitchen cabinets. It destroyed our vanity and floor and ruined one kitchen cabinet. They want to pay $2400 for everything. Drywall, installation need to be replace too! Just to replace the 88" vanity will take that amount! plus the mirrors are cracked,! so disappointed we have paid into this company for 18 years!

Good? More like, "Excellent."
Even more important, if you would need a body shop and would tell them you had Travelers, chances are excellent they would know the claims people and would have worked with them before.

Honey, I see their policies EVERY DAY, and they have different Service of Process agents for different policy types and different clients. To find out who the Service of Process agent is for YOUR policy type, you have to LOOK AT YOUR POLICY. If you're trying to sue Travelers, you can't do this without a lawyer - and YOUR LAWYER will have the contact in YOUR STATE.

Travelers is GREAT. I love them. They're one of the largest insurers in the US, they just don't advertise heavily.
I've represented them at several points in my career.
