I'd imagine it is getting too expensive to punish kids with coal. He might need to switch to a cheaper commodity.

I'm with lilmissy... excrement seems to be a good choice.

One year as we approached Christmas in my early youth, I was remembering all of the packages of socks I had received as gifts the previous couple Christmases. I exclaimed, "All I ever get for Christmas is crap!"

A few weeks later when Christmas rolled around, I shook a small box that sounded like a puzzle with expectation. When I opened it, there was a box full of rabbit pellets (poo). I got the message. Some of these naughty kids wouldn't appreciate the significance of a lump of coal. Poo though, that's the thing!!

He didn't curve the actual naughty/nice list, but instead the distribution of presents.

In the past, Santa gave coal to all those children who were at least one standard deviation naughtier than the median. This year, he only gave coal to those children two standard deviations naughtier than the median.

And yet ironically, what Dick Cheney wanted wasn't a lump of coal exactly, but something close: A barrel of oil...

Chunky-style; with seagulls mixed in.

lilmissykato has a good suggestion, and if you dry it, it will burn nicely, however reindeer are in short supply as well!

But I think GW may have a similar solution, by using an excretion from the male bovine.

He seems to have an endless supply.
