1.Plug the USB cable into the camera(the port is underneath a little rubber tab on your camera)
2. Plug the other end of the USB cable into a USB port on the computer. On the newer computers, there are USB ports in the front of the computer.
3. Turn your camera to Play mode(on your dial). When your camera comes on, you should get the window on the computer. Asking what you want to do.
4. Select Copy Pictures to your computer, Hit Ok
5. The next window that appears introduces the camera and scanner wizard.
Click “Next”
6. The next window that appears shows you thumbnails of all the pictures stored on your camera.
• If you want to download them all, leave it as is and click “Next”
• You may “unselect” any picture by clicking on the check mark.
• You may use the rotate buttons to rotate here.
• You may clear all of the pictures and then select only the ones you want to download.
7. This step is very important!
First blank: What you type here will name each individual picture as it is downloaded. If you leave it at “Picture” your pictures will be named “Picture01,” “Picture02” and so on.
Second Blank: It is very important that you know where you are putting your pictures. You must BROWSE to your folder on the c:\ drive.
Click on Browse.
8. When you have located the folder, click “OK.”
• Click “Next.” The pictures will download to the folder you chose.
• At the next window, choose “Nothing, I am finished working with these pictures.”
• Click “Next”
• Click “Finish”
• Your pictures will appear in the Viewer.
Hope this makes sense!!!

connect the USB cord that came with the camera into the camera and the other end into your computer. The slot will say USB. As soon as you do that a dialog box should pop up and walk you through downloading your pictures.

I hope the "USB" responses answered your questions.
I have, just, one comment on the "upload" versus "download" terms.
"Upload" refers to the transfer of data from a "smaller" source to a larger, receiving source, such as "uploading" from a camera to your computer, or, from your computer to a server, and so on.
To "download" means datat is transferred from a larger source to a smaller one, such as "downloading" form a website (on a server), down to your computer, or, from your computer to a flash drive or portable USB memory device.
I understand that this distinction may make little difference to most users, but clear communication is what computers are supposed to be about. One does not launch a space shuttle "down" to orbit. An apple does not fall "up" from a tree. Since this forum deals with technical issues, we should, at least, try to use the correct technical terms.
I rant, but I'm only a little bit sorry.

Depends on what camera you have. Some let you plug in a USB cable and so want you to remove the memory card and plug it into your computer or an adapter so the computer can read the card. Hope that helps. OH and some let you do both so it depends on what yours does. Read the instructions if you have them.
