Indeed, why do People of Faith try to justify their holy scriptures with science?

God is greater than His creation.

Why do the people imagine a vain thing?

atheists are like any other group of people-once something is learned and the mind closes then your mind is never open for other options or explanations--this applies to any one or any group--once your are convinced your right--your right

If theology is based in reality it is susceptible to science and logic, if it is fantasy it isn't. In which case why should I choose your fantasy over say the fantasy of the Flying Spaghetti Monster cult.
If an atheist argues with you using logic and the findings of science she is giving your beliefs respect.
Without the use of logic at least, which incidental can only prove an argument is internally consistent it cannot prove or disprove the primary axioms of any argument, discussion becomes merely assertion.

Damn I've broken my New Year resolution and its not even New Year!
And when will theists learn the simple facts that (a) it is impossible to prove a negative...go on prove the flying spaghetti monster does not exist and (b) that no proof of non existence does not constitute proof of existence?
I really have to stop wasting my time like this. I mean what is the point of arguing with invincible ignorance?

Atheists try to argue theology with physics? Thats a first. Care to give an example? Its usually the creationists that always bring the Big Bang theory into theological debates. Logic is inescapble. Your faulty logic assumes that an invisible man created the Universe. If God is greater than his creation then why did he do such a lousy job? The human jaw is not big enough for all our teeth. I wouldnt want to worship a God that cannot do as good a job as a human engineer.

Everyone brings their own point of view to the table.

Most Humanists use physics or logic because that is what they *have faith* in. Since there is no scientific proof that there is no God they must drum up some scientific evidence that would best support their belief. I don't think they try to argue Theology, they argue A-theology.

Now, on the opposite end of the tracks. Since there is no scientific proof that God does exist *most* Christians probably shouldn't worry about trying to prove it scientifically. Unfortunately when most do they lack the scientific knowledge necessary to provide adequate evidence to ever persuade a Humanist. There is definitely evidence that supports the exist of God, but no proof scientifically.

I think theology is intellectually unsatisfying to the Humanist, just as science falls short in proving the existence of God.

So, it all comes down to what we *believe in*.

Sorry, I think your question is illogical -- are you saying that atheists have a theology to argue with?

What source should atheists use?

The point is that (this) atheist thinks that theology is crap because of science; therefore, the logical weapon to use against theology is science.

Science is greater than pre-science.

theology must "test pass" all available scientific knowledge and logic.

Some religions discourage the questioning attitude in regard to the soundness of their teachings. They advise their followers to follow their instructions without examination.

If God wants a person to believe in a principle, He should make it clear and evident. He is the Most Fair and Just. He knows that belief is not a voluntary thing; that is, it is not up to the individual. A person is not able to believe or disbelieve anything he chooses. The human body is at one's command but not the mind. I can obey a command that tells me to move my hand up or down, to walk or sit, even if such a command does not seem to be wise. But I am not able to obey a command, for example, that tells me to believe that two and two are five, or that three are one, or that fire is cold, or that snow is hot.

Our human knowledge comes from direct or indirect evidence, and it does not follow our own whim and will. An acceptable religious belief must be based on knowledge. When God wants me to know something, He should make such a knowledge possible by making its evidence available. Should He demand from me to believe something while evidence is standing against it, He would be asking me to do the impossible. This contradicts His justice.

Sowe can never embrace a doctrine when evidence stands against it,
nor should one follow a principle without logic ,

For the same reason that some Christians try to use theology to explain the physical world. They're confused.

I use theology itself to argue against it along side with logic top backup my statements

One could also ask why do theists use religion to argue against science?

When religions make scientific claims, you must use science to disprove them. I can't use science to argue that you should stone to death your disobedient children (old testament), but if you say a flood covered the entire earth for months (depending on which passage you believe), then science is relevant.

We don't.
It's theists who try to insert their religious beliefs into science, or try to argue against valid scientific evidence because of their religious beliefs. That's what we're arguing.

Science along with mankind's limited knowledge for logic is the only cards they have to play against God.

This bold display of mankind is their "weak" attempt to think or show they are smarter than God.

God's divine logic against mankind's limited logic are not and cannot be compared.
