Your teacher is telling you incorrectly, I'm afraid.

The core belief of Judaism is that we worship only G-d, and that there is only ONE G-d.

Abraham was a patriarch, and we can say he was the 'founder' of Judaism, because he made an eternal covenant with G-d.

But no, we NEVER regard any human being as divine. That's why we reject Jesus as messiah, because for us, it's heresy to say that any human being could be G-d incarnate on earth.

As for 'yahweh', no Jews don't use this. The ancient Hebrews did not know the true name of G-d, it was never said aloud because it is sacred. Instead, the tetragrammatron used was YHWH. Hebrew has no vowels, so later Christian theologians inserted vowels and from that, ended up with 'yahweh'. But Jews don't use this.

We refer to G-d as 'Adonai' (Lord) and also 'Hashem' - in Hebrew, literally 'the name'.

Hope this helps. Please ignore anything your teacher tells you about Judaism!!

Your teacher made a mistake, as others have pointed out.

What's a "global teacher"? What sort of course is that? Sounds interesting.

Addendum: Ah, global history. We used to call it "world history." Not my best subject :)

Well - for one - if there is something like a TRUE GOD , there has ot be somehitn glike a FLASE GOD too ! ! And FALSE GOD does not make sense in anyways All of us are SONs of our Ancestors and I guess it really should not matter beyond that...... For one - if GOD would punish me if I was honest and fair but not a Christian, then the credentials of that GOD really come into doubt ! So I guess it is all about what we are as persona than what religion we inherit

No, Abraham is called the Father of Israel.
Yahweh does not mean God, it is a name of God that God reveals. Orthodox Jews don't call God that, they change it to LORD (Adonai) in case they take it in vain. That's why they write G*D as well. They figure since there is only one of Him, his 'noun' (god) is also his name (God) and don't want to take that in vain either. It's like R. Daneel Olivaw - the R stands for Robot, but is also like his name but he doesn't use it.

No, never. Anyone who said this is either greatly misinformed, a complete idiot or someone trying to teach hatred of the Jews.
