If you live your life on earth carelessly, not caring for others or not obeying the Bible; the consequence of death is likely HELL.
If you do believe and read your Bible over and over and do as we are told; then one is more likely to get to HEAVEN as life on earth, as we know it, ends.

I hope this helps----
I do not believe that when we die we will either go to heaven or hell. What a waste of a lifetime. I sincerely think, that we as humans are all connected to the powers of the universe and we are all connected to each other on a deep subconscience level, therefore when this life cycle ends, we will each return again to a new life, to continue in our growth as a part of the universe. The universe, is and always shall be, so I try to believe, that the purpose of humans is populate the universe, continuing the life cycle, over and over. Since, we will never really know the consequence of death, I try to be positive about it and hope that my next life, will be an improvement on my past ones. So the consequence of death for me, is the possibility of a new life cycle.
That sounds crazy doesn't it ?? I suppose that truly deep down, I want to believe that life goes on in some way or other.

From a scientific perspective, one ceases to be, ceases to perceive. Dying is like falling asleep and never waking up. Its the end of life.

From a religious perspective, death is a rebirth, a return to a greater life.

The consequence of death, is Hell. An eternal fire of brimstone and unimaginable sufferings. But, if people choose to live for Christ, and deny the world, then they are, without a doubt, going to live with Jesus forever and ever in Heaven, that is a promise in the Word of God.

Possibility of Life.
“Whoever wants to save his soul [or, life] will lose it; but whoever loses his soul for my sake will find it.” (Matthew 16:25) We do not want to die. But if we tried to save our present life by breaking God’s law, we would be in danger of losing everlasting life. We are wise, then, to put our trust in the rightness of God’s law, with full confidence that if we die from any cause, our Life-Giver will remember us in the resurrection and restore to us the precious gift of life.
