I have only one credit card. And for the past 2 months, I only used the credit card ONCE to buy plane tickets the second month I owned it and paid it off. I don't have to pay an annual fee, but I was wondering if they charge ANY money because I used it once. And I won't be using it much because I like using my debit card. So if I don't use it for a little while, will it be ok? No charges, no fees....right?

I forgot to ask........are credit cards able to become inactive after a certain amount of time that you don't use it?

I have Capitol One Standard Platinum.

Your good! The only time they charge is if there is an exsisting balance, then it is a finance charge. Some cc have yearly fee for having it, make sure you check on that, call their 800 number on back of card and ask them if theres an annual fee. You don't want an annual fee. Especially if you rarely use it. Debit cards just deduct from your checking, like writing an invisible check. Never a finance charge on that, just don't overdraw.

You are correct. However, I had a credit card that did not have an Annual Fee, but they may be able to switch that at any time. I stopped using mine and then they decided to start charging it. I immediately canceled that card. So you may want to ensure that the credit card company doesn't state that they can start the annual fee at any time, like they did with mine.

If there's no annual fee, and you have 0 balance, you should get all $0 bills.

If there is no annual fee, you'd only be charged if you use it - then you'd owe whatever you charged, plus interest if applicable.
