I have people from various beliefs in my contact list. I add people that seem to listen with their hearts, intellectual and/or generally thought provoking. It is most disappointing when one of them gets deleted as I lose track of their thoughts.

Can't we just overlook those that we find abrasive and quit reporting folks that simply don't adhere to our own beliefs? Having someone deleted effects more than that one person. I don't know of any religion, philosophy, science or other system of thought that encourages us to close ourselves off to communication and personal growth through study.

I enjoy a bit of humor here to lighten things up but I am primarily here to listen and learn. Shutting down individual voices narrows resources. Beyond that it hurts people.

Well, I have made my own belief system out of the fragments of others, and some original parts that I have thrown in. Maybe I should be known as a "Kitchen Sinkologist". Peaceful is at the top of my tenets, however tolerance toward bigotry and indignities to my fellow humans is not on my list. I have enough tolerance however to "listen" to what other users here have to say, however, unfortunately I have to block them frequently to keep my account alive. I have many fundamentalist friends, because I know them well enough to know they are not report bots like so many others. I really think that Yahoo needs to change the way they allow users to report and I think they need to take a look at how in a subjective area such as religion ANYBODY's opinion could be held as a violation. And, lastly, I love humour. It's the only way to go.

Far too many are to quick to the report button because they don`t like what is said in the answer, or the question. There are many youngsters who open accounts just to have some, socalled fun reproting. There accounts don`t last long but the damage they do often does.
It would appear that there are two types on answers. Those with multiple accounts, here to get high scores as an ego trip, and those with one account here to learn and teach. The former don`t mind being reported , as they just use another of their accounts. The latter however seen to go and never return. This seem to be the exact opposite of what the powers to be want. It has been suggested to Yahoo that the report is closed to all the lower levels and a price is put on the use of the report buttom. They have not replied yet..!!

I agree and I practice a belief that encourages tolerance and peacefulness. Though I must say I have not mastered this, I do try to treat people with dignity and respect. What you are speaking of sounds like people who sweat things. I try not to sweat the small stuff. I can't imagine reporting someone for anything other than child porn, endangerment, or admitted HORRID abuse. Anything other than that I can simply not read or ignore. I'm not sure why someone would have another person removed from here simply because they didn't like their belief system. Even if someone CURSED ME OUT HORRIBLY, this would not be cause for that because I can just choose not to be here.

My belief system encourages tolerance to a point, but not peace. We believe life is a battle against evil. If we relent and let evil flourish around us, then we are giving consent to it.

That is why we believe in defending our nation, our community and our family with force of arms.
We believe in capital punishment for heinous crimes.
We believe in confronting people when they lie.

and I personally believe in reporting people who violate the community guidelines of Y/A.

Go to an unmoderated chatroom to rant, spam, spew filth or otherwise blither on.

I only report if someone is not answering or asking a sincere question

I get reported for doing the same

it's my sincere desire we learn to look past labels and just get to know each other, talk more and quit being afraid of each other because someone said there is a Daemon or boogie man / satan out there and a god that supports you and is rooting for you to "do the right thing"

an entire host of thought platforms. it sounds as though regular to point that basically prepared religions work together in this custom, yet certainty be reported, any dogmatic device could threat be so characterised. it quite is genuine, case in point that many prepared religions are monotheistic, and deny the potential for somebody else's God (god or deity). The be conscious censor skill to suppress or delete objectionable content cloth, and there is no end to modernists, submit-modernists or existentialists being the two dogmatic, brushing off the potential for a deity as unfounded at ideal.

I love the diversity of opinion here, from everyone including some very nice atheists. I don't like mockery, nasty comments, totally off-topic comments to advance an agenda, etc. from all sides, including Christians, and I try to admonish them in a nice way (I hope). When someone asks a question, I would hope it's a real question, not a "question" posed to ridicule or show how superior they or their position are. Thanks for your quesiton--it's needed.

Yo, thanks for this post.
What a encouraging way to inspire peace.
I agree totally, as I can get in the way of my growth as well sometimes.
Seeing that and being honest about that, inspires me to be more forgiving of that in others, thus forgiving myself.
I lean more to metaphysical beliefs, but allowing myself to have an open-mind has been a Blessing.
Christians, Aethists, Buddhists, Pagans, etc... have lifted me
out of myself when I allowed myself to look past my own judgements.
Yo, thankyou for sharing your gifts with all of us.
Many, many Blessings to you.
In Spirit
Your Friend Angi

My system of belief is very easy really. I believe in the goodness of all humans. All humans have the will to be tolerant and peaceful we just have to keep working on it. I am always looking for new ways to be tolerant of others around me and I strive for peacefulness all the time.
