Just got her and we have a Male Golden Retriever. I don't want anything to happen to her. We are breeding him with a female Golden of a Neighbor so we can do anything with him. Are there any risks?

Yes, the neighbor is my husbands family. They have all been in the "dog Business" for over 30 years. He has bred Goldens for over 15 years

Yes, they have shown dogs for about 12 years. Very good. And no to the "back yard Breeders" comment

Of course you can get her spayed. It's actually much healthier for her. Just keep in mind that there is a possibility of conception for nine days after the surgery so you will want to keep a close eye on them both for that time.

2 years old is not too old.
And it doesn't matter if your husband's family has "been in the dog business" for 30 years or a million years. Do they show or compete their dogs? If not, they are a long line of Backyard Breeders. See the Golden Retriever Club of America for additional details and the guidelines that resopnsible breeders should follow: http://www.grca.org/acquiring.htm#breeding

In most cases there is no problem unless the dog has some kind of health problems. the vet ay want to do a blood workup on her to be safe( I wouldn't bother) I have had dogs doen at 6-7 years old when I retire them from breeding and the only one I had a problem with had health problems and they wouldn't spay her.

no, there are almost no risks, except for that of infection if the incision becomes dirty after surgery, but that isn't usually a big deal. There really is no age limit on when a dog can be spayed/neutered, as it is a very simple process with fast recovery.

Yes, of course. It's a very good age for her to be spayed.
She should heal quickly and you shouldn't encounter any problems afterwards if you are careful and make sure she doesn't get the wound infected.
I trust you have researched both pedigrees of your Male Golden Retriever and your neighbour's female to make sure their pedigrees tie up and neither has any genetic disorders, such as hip dysplasia or cataracts behind them.

Absolutely. A dog can be spayed at any age. It may take a little while for her to be "back to normal", but definitely have it done.

There is a big chance the male dog could try get with the collie if you don't get her spayed. and she should of been spayed when she was younger.

Nope you can and should spay her. And unless your male is a champion and has had all of his genetic health clearances, he should be neutered and not bred. Breedings like this result in the prevalence of hip dysplasia and other health problems in goldens.
