It's either the cord or ? what cord is it, if it's component then you probably should check teh cords ...av cables you wouldn't have a picture at all if it was in wrong, and hdmi get hdmi 1.3a ...Don't buy a $15 cord , they are different

Have you tried turning your PS3 upside down? ;)
Seriously, try a different cord if nothing works - return the PS3 and get a new one.
