From Penn Station....(via subway lines)

A, C, E, 1, 2, 3 (1 stop north)

From Flushing

7 (to the last stop)

BTW, you can change at the Times Square station for any of these routes.

Depends on where you are coming from.

???
From Penn Station Take the A, C, or E one stop north to 42 St.

From Main St Flushing the 7 directly to Times Square.

check www.mta.info for nyc transit subway maps to see exactly what everyone is talkin about. download the bus maps (PDF) as well because they give very detailed street information so you can see what you're doing.

take the 1, 2 or 3 to 42nd and transfer to the 7 from there.

one tip.. don't take the A, C, E because that's ONE LOOOONG WALK to the other trains. it's the suckiest transfer in NYC. A, C, E drop you off at Port Authority which is 42nd & 8th ave. although, the 1, 2 and 3 take you to 42nd & 7th ave, it's one nasty, hot, muggy, long, claustrophobic, funky walk in the tunnel from 8th to 7th. if and when i do this walk, i pay the extra cost to walk outside because at least it's flat walk with fresh air!
