This site is good for giving you the requirements for both countries:

If you are leaving this week and don't have time to get a health certificate from a vet, you can't take him. He does not need a passport like a person.

Well go to the Mexican embassy's website and research the requirements for bringing in a pet and also get your dog a passport (It's a lot more safe) Make sure all his/her shots are up to date and have a vet look him/her over. When I bought my dog in Mexico while I was on vacation and what I had to do to bring her over to the US was get her all her shots, a permit from the agricultural department, a letter from the vet, and her own airplane ticket. This was 2 years ago though. Check with the airline you're flying with for a list of requirements. If you're traveling by land, then go to the Mexican Consular website or call their number and see what they say.

you will need a certificate of health from your vet before he can do any kind of legal travelling. Make sure he is outfitted with a micro chip, rabies tags, and an ID tag, too.

comparable as i think of roughly ppl crossing into mexico from the u.s... ppl have crossed our border for years, its in basic terms for the period of cases of financial hassle (in this side or the different) that folk start to ask questions approximately how, what, how and why with regard to the ppl that go the border. no one asks questions for the period of boon cases as quickly as we'd like all the cheap labor and products we are able to get.

Please be more explicit. What is your problem, please do not say that you are considering leaving your dog. Also do a "spell check" before asking questions.

Your dog adores you, forget about going to Mexico. Mexico will always be there, however your dog will suffer if you leave it. Can you imagine leaving a little baby, dogs are little babies and they need their Mums and Dads.

Dogs have a short life and they need YOU to care for them. Why just think about taking your dog with you, stay at home with your dog.

You should probably get him a passport, just to be safe.
