A decent Doctor could help her She needs to be on an anxiety med A low dose of diazapam will help her when she starts to get that uptight feeling and works in around 10 minutes I suppose she shouldn't use weed some first time users of other non prescription drugs can cause heart attacks as well

Wow! I have been to the ER a few times for severe panic attacks but they were not pot-related. However, back when I used to smoke pot, I remember sometimes getting anxious whie doing it. I just took deep breaths and reminded myself that it would go away. She probably just freaked out so much. However, I can't believe she almost died! I wish her the best. My advice is to, obviously, not smoke pot. Also, if her anxiety happens a lot even when she's not smoking, she may need to seek a psychiatrist for some medications.

Well, smoking pot sometimes makes people feel paranoid and freak out, this is obvious in your friends case, tell her not to smoke down anymore. Secondly, if she has anxiety to begin with, she probably should speak to her primary doctor and get on some anxiety meds until she can learn how to control it. Not only that though, it could be hereditary. How old is she? If under age, does her parents not know about this? They should take her to the doc.

First you don't die from a rapid heart rate, I know personally because I had what is called Atrial Tachycardia. My beats exceeded 160 daily until I had surgery to fix my heart cells. She just got paranoid and put herself into an anxiety attack. If she is still having anxiety symptoms then her best bet is to see a psychiatrist for medication to help control the attacks.. Oh, and stay away from the weed. Best of luck.

Tell her to go see the doctor that I'm sure the hospital told her to, when they released her. Stress management helps, try the links i listed in source for info. But if it was bad enough that it required going to the hospital, it is bad enough that it needs to get followed up on by going to a doctor.

i have high anxiety as well and smoking pot triggers awful panic attacks. as a matter of fact almost all drugs trigger panic attacks. ask her how panic attacks make her feel, i can guarantee they suck and that tey're scary. tell her that for the short time of being high she has to suffer feeling terrified. she should lay off the drugs and try relaxing things, for me its running around the track a few times by myself.

her doctor can prescribe her some meds, or she could see a doctor to help her find alternative methods to relieve her anxiety like breathing, yoga, relaxing, visualization, or meditation..... she should prob cut back on the weed because some weed can cause people to have a bad trip or get parinoid...

if she had a heart attack, it wasn't caused by anxiety, she has heart disease. Marijuana often causes anxiety attacks in those prone to them....she needs to avoid it like the plague because with heart disease the anxiety can cause an elevated heart rate and the heart fails because it is already damaged from the heart attack. While in the hospital she should see a cognitive behavioral therapist, who can teach her coping mechanisms for dealing with anxiety disorders.

Stop smoking weed, exercise and meditate. There are lots of ways short of smoking dope to relax. Try therapy.
