Honest answer.
When I was young, looks was the big attraction. Even then, a relationship based on looks did not last long.
As I have grown older, a good personality is top rated.
By good personality is connected to a good heart. This encompasses missed items in today's society like sincerity, kindness, truth, etc.
Personality defined by the latest fashion statement or behavior pattern of the Hollywood press is no more than an exercise in futility and equates to no personality.

I hate to compare people with animals but for the sake of discussion only, I once bought the most beautiful long haired Persian kitten when I was much younger since I'm a die hard cat lover in general.
That kitty gave me so much trouble--it seemed it was ALWAYS in a bad mood no matter how hard I tried to please it--it would viscously attack everybody and it almost took my eyes out while I was asleep and left me with a big gash just above my eyebrow.
That was the last straw--I gave it away and the new owners had to in turn let it go as well.
One of the most kindest and cool cats was an ugly looking Calico that nobody wanted because it had a limp and one of its eyes had some deformity to it--an unsightly looking thing really. But that second cat remains in my memory as one of my best pets ever to this day. He died of a hip infection though.
So PERSONALITY OVER LOOKS any day

Honestly, looks is what you first notice, and will make you chat to the girl, but if she has no decent personality then the girl needs to be mega hot or its just not happening. Personally if a girl laughs at my jokes and is easy to be around then shes a winner.

The personality or character of a person is what really counts. Yes we all want someone we can be seen with, but the innner self of a person can out weigh the looks any day. Eventually his / her looks will grow on you and then you will have both, looks and personality.

For instant attraction, looks. Over the long haul personality. You have to understand that even a good personality doesn't mean there is a great match between two people.

Personality, looks are nice but personality brings it home baby!!!
I've dated cute girls with great personalities and I'm like puddy in their hands if they have a great personality.
I've also dated hot chicks, who seemingly can't turn me off because their intelligence is that of a wooden chair.

personality more than looks. if she's fugly, the funnest person in the world can't override that. if she's ok looks with awesome personality, well that's just awesome. if she has both, well that's just super awesome
