"Beware of turning into the enemy you most fear. All it takes is to lash out violently at someone who has done you some grievous harm, proclaiming that only your pain matters in this world. More than against that person's body, you will then, at that moment, be committing a crime against your own imagination." Ariel Dorfman; novelist, playwright & essayist

Doraemorn: I am a Christian & I don't wish to offend you , but I'm asking for opinions here, not "scripture".

EDIT: Doraemorn: I apologize--it seems I misunderstood your intentions. Passages like this are exactly why I say Islam is not truly a peaceful religion. Hope my honesty doesn't get this ? deleted.

If you hate then you are the slave of the one you hate as he consumes your life. If you forgive then you can forget him and get on with living the best life possible. At the same time murder is a killing that lacks lawful justification not just a killing. It is thou shalt not murder not thou shall not kill. Victimhood is not the same as forgiveness.

Indeed...if waging a long term battle with a perceived foe, the greatest defeat would be to take upon us those very strributes that we deemed foul in the opposition.
I have found when studying warring factions that two extremes have more similarities than difference to contend with...When our minds are concerted, focused toward a certain type sector of persons or group, we are tempted to responde with 'when pointing at the splinter in thy enemies eye, first extricate the log from thin own..' or something similar along those lines...

And what if we quote Surah 8 Al-Anfal (spoils of war) more accurately
57... If ye gain mastery over them in war, disperse, with them, those who follow them, that they may remember.
Foar too many people extract pieces out of context and incorrectly.
The other quotes are the same as christians claiming that what the pope says is now the bible..!!

When Fascism comes to the United States, it will be draped in flag and carrying a cross. The day will come when you must rise and take a stand or leave your butt prints in the sand.
