it's a legalistic nightmare

if we call something we do naturally, a "sin" it's like a money making scheme because it would be like making breathing a sin or "worldly" and carnal

demonizing our humanity was pure genius

all that is left is to pass the hat and confess what wretches we are as normal beings born in current existence

Sin is what can corrupt individuals, families and societies- however if sin is seen as wrong in the eyes of God, confession, repentance and forgiveness can come to that person, family or society. Living in sin and denying the sin kills- sinning and asking for forgiveness brings life.

I don't see any benefit. There are errors of judgment, there are wrong things to do, there are even nasty things to do. But "sin" seems to be exclusively a question of disobeying some externally-determined rules. Makes a lot more sense to be responsible for your own actions and your own judgment. And accept the consequences when you make a mistake.

Sin has never benefitted anyone.

The issue is NOT sin, but placing your trust in the One who bore the penalty for mankinds sin on the Cross.

THAT benefits society.
