I can understand about a piece of furniture that is essentially "impossible" to move. We have an entertainment center that is 12 feet wide and 9 feet tall. It is in 8 pieces that fit together very carefully. I would not want to move it if at all possible. Just taking all of the speaker, stereo, video wiring apart and putting back is a major task not counting the furniture pieces.

We plan on painting the walls next month. We will just cut in around the piece and not paint behind it at all. No one is going to see that area anyway.

We also have a 11 foot wide by 7 foot high set of bookcases. They are filled with books and knick-knacks. We aren't going to move them either. If you move them, paint and then put them back no one will every see the new paint behind the book cases.

If you can't see area in question then you don't have to paint it. You probably don't have to paint all of the space above your piece of furniture is even a really tall person can't see it.

UM.... how is it impossible to move a piece of furniture? What the heck is it made out of Lead? Pure iron?
Move the furniture and paint behind it... and if it really is impossible to move then dont paint behind it at all, cuz no ones gonna see behind there anyways

You can always hire someone to move it and come back a few hours later and return it to it's spot. If it has material inside, like a china cabinet, it has to be emptied first.

The plastic discs that you slip under corners of furniture work great, but you still have to be able to tip the piece up to slip the discs underneath.

If you cant move it then all you can do it paint behind it as far as you possibly can........reminds me of the time one of our renters moved out and when we went to inspect, the bedroom had outlines of all their furniture because they painted and didnt move a thing.........lol

For the top your going to need a ladder or a chair to get on.

Why is it impossible to move?

You only need to move it away from the wall 2 feet then cover it.

get those furniture sliders that you put under the legs and just push it out of the way- they work really great! otherwise you'll need a ladder
