There is no direct service between these cities, but you can get a train from New York to (usually) Chicago, then another to Los Angeles, and finally on to San Diego.
Single fare is about $230.

Not directly. New York to Chicago's Union Station and then take the Southwest Chief to Los Angeles then the San Diegan on down to SD,
