I'm starting a business as a wedding and party co-ordinator and want to know, in your opinion, if you were to hire a wedding planner, how would you like to see them dressed? I need a new wardrobe and want to know general opinions.

You can't go wrong with a black pantsuit that fits well. Make sure that the pants aren't too long so that you can wear a lower heel or flats, since you will be on your feet all day. If your hair is long, I would suggest wearing it up or pulled back, to present a more professional image.

I agree that people should be able to identify you as the planner, you should not dress as though you were a guest at the wedding. Most importantly, if you are dressed very professionally, you will command more respect when dealing with vendors, which is probably 75% of the battle.

Good luck.

On the day of the wedding you organise, its best to dress according to local tradition for small business professionals, but with a bit of colour added in. Where everyone else will be at a family / social event, you'll actually be at work and probably carrying a clipboard, handsfree mobile etc. Although you've got to show this then, you also want to fit in with the fun of the event, so try and find matching colours to the wedding, without clashing with the bride / bridesmaids, but in these clothes.

The best example I ever saw was a programme on TV about Indian weddings, where the trainee organiser had a high quality blue sari on, but in being more formal it looked professional, and whilst looking fantastic, she did appear to be distinct from the wedding party and guests. (I think the bride was wearing Indian pale cream / orange).

I am a wedding coordinator. The way I dress is a two-piece suit (sometimes a skirt that is to the knee) in the summer & pants otherwise; a great blouse (if you know the colour of the wedding, that would also look nice) and my hair up to keep out of my eyes. I'd also invest in some flat shoes; cause you will be moving quite a lot.

Have fun.

If I was to hire a wedding planner I would want her to fit in with what everyone else would be wearing. For my wedding it was pretty laid back, slacks and a nice shirt for the guys, and a 'Sunday' dress for the woman, I would want the wedding planner to fit in with my guest. Leave it up to the bride, but have a little of everything in your closet. Good luck with being a wedding planner!!

I'd like my wedding planner to be chic and sophisticated. I wouldnt want them to be too trendy, but I would like to see them with some trendy element that show a sense of style and fun.

I would want them to have nice hair and well kept finger nails. Also, nice jewelry and accessories.

Think business attire, but with a sense of fun, style and a little bit of cheekiness.

I wouldn't want my wedding planner to look like they bought their whole outfit off a store rack. That doesn't show much personality or creativity. That's what you want in someone that's planning your wedding.

Think a well fitted pants suit, but with a fun colored tank underneath. Say, Hot Pink. Then, have a black bag with maybe a hot pink sash tied around it. Get some jewelery that isn't matchy, matchy but compliments the color scheme. Also, consider a pair of trendy sunglasses. That way, you are classic, fun and have a small sense of modern trends.

Also, I hate to say. But, I would consider someone with name brand designer appear to be more. If you are wearing Chanel sunglasses and carrying a Prada Bag; I'm going to see you as being a bit more on the higher end.

Even if you are an affordable wedding planner, people want to see you as being able to give them what they can't have. So, a 100K wedding on the 15K budget. If you've got knowledge in higher end brands/designs, you'll seem more qualified.

You should try watching that show, "Who's Wedding Is It Anyway?" on the Style Network.

like various expert a marriage planners dresses to verify the assembly or occassion. If i'm assembly shoppers to communicate plans or assembly providers, sensible trousers, shirt and cool upload-ons that mirror your very own expert and private form is great. although on the incredibly wedding ceremony day, a extra expert physique of suggestions is needed. Any fashionista make it easier to understand shop it sensible, undemanding and accessorise for effect. remember you're no longer the main concentration or a travellers, you're there in a expert means. desire this helps.

Stylish and professional. Because you are trying to present an image and will be dealing with a lot of people face to face, you want to come off a certain way. I would dress in sleek pantsuits or skirt suits...nice trousers and a nice blouse or top...think J.Lo in "Wedding Planner."

I would want you to look professional, but comfortable because you would be running around all day. A black or grey pantsuit with a blouse and a pair of flats would be good for me. Plus people would know that you were working the wedding if you were in a suit, I would not want someone I was paying to be mistaken for a guest.

I would think that it would be according to the type of party ! As to the meeting with the client I would say a just something nice maybe a little dressy but also something that you are comfortable in because you don't want to be uncomfortable because people can tell. You want to look as if there are no problems, that you have everything under control.
