There is not a lot you can do to help.. maybe inviting your friend to spend lots of time with you and your family would help. Until Michelle realizes that she is in danger and decides to get out, this trend will continue.
It might help if you talk to your parents about it, and see what advice they have.

Just a thought.. there are a couple responses about calling the police, remember if you call the police a few things can happen. Michelle and George can get very angry at Silvia, and take it out on her, George will get mad again and take it out on Michelle. Silvia risks the chance of being placed in Foster Care until there is interventions on the part of the parents( i.e counceling, divorce,etc..)

First of all im 17 and i know what its like to be abused by your father or in her case step-father...she and her mom should leave and call the police...they could go to a battered womens shelter and there are even phone lines set up for this sort of thing...i suggest you get out as soon as possible b-4 its too late.

That is really scary. Tell your mom about the incident and have her help you get in touch with the right people to protect your friend. If your mom won't help, then contact child protective services in your area and report what she told you.

Then you need to convince your friend that she needs to call the police to report the incident that happened in her home and she needs to call CPS or tell a counselor or teacher at school so they can get her in touch with the right people.

Good Luck!

She should contact either the local police or family services in her town before things escalate to the point where no one can take anything back.

Your friend should talk to a grown up about this. Either a teacher, or a guidance counselor, or anyone that can help. She needs to speak up to somebody.
