25 mgs of Lyrica at night.

Hi, my doctor just put me on Lyrica, but it makes me so dizzy I really don't feel like it's helping. I also am recovering from a broken ankle, so it's really complicated my fibro. I was taking 800 mg ibuprofen, 400 mg skelaxin 3 times a day, 5 mg of valium every 4 hours.

I found the thing that works the best is light exercise tho and to really reduce my sugar intake - it makes a huge difference in flare ups.

I hope you find something that helps - I know how painful it is.

I don't have fibromyalgia, but I read an article last week about the use of Elavil for it. Elavil is an antidepressant, but some doctor who had worked in a clinic for fibromyalgia patients had found that a daily low dose of it worked for his patients. They didn't notice any immediate relief, but after about 2 months, they suddenly realized they were pain free or in substantially less pain. Ask your doctor about it. I would think anyone with fibromyalgia would be depressed from all the pain anyway so it's worth a try.

Natural supplements instead of drugs given for fibromyalgia which include anti-inflammatory drugs, antidepressants, anticonvulsant medications, muscle relaxants, tranquilizers and pain medications that have poor results and many side effects, many of which contribute to erratic behavior and emotional distress.

Side effects from commonly prescribed drugs for fibromyalgia may cause short term memory loss, fatigue, flu-like symptoms, and depression, morning hangover, mental confusion, lethargy, anxiety and depression, thought disorders and fuzzy thinking. These drugs are known to deplete at least one or more essential mood dependent vitamins, minerals, or nutrients such as B6, B12, CoQ10, folic acid, etc.

Try using, 5HTP (5-hydroxytryptophan), S-adenosyl-L-methionine (SAMe), L-theanine along with a good optimal daily allowance multivitamin, fish oil, malic acid, and generous amounts of magnesium.

my 12 yr old son has Fibro and he is on : 600mg Neurontin,200mg celebrex, 10 mg amitriptilyn (Elavil) and if he is having a flair up he has Tylanol with codeine. I asked about the Lyceria but was told it wasnt studied for children and his doctor was not comfortable giving it to him. We have noticed that if he takes a hot shower and then does mild stretching exercise he does not flair as often

I am taking 10mg Flexeril, Piroxicam, and Effexor. The Flexeril is the most helpful, and the Piroxicam doesn't seem to be helping much at all. I use a heating pad daily, take hot baths, stretch, and keep active.
