I have ADHD and it is such a hassle for me to have to go to my doctor all the time for refills on my Concerta, because her office inevitably drags their feet and always takes a week or so to refill it. Anyways, though, I was wondering if there is any good medication that you don't need a prescription for that is effective for ADHD? I need something to supplement the times when I am out of Concerta and I don't have my refill yet. Let me know, thanks!

Hello,
I do not like all those drugs, so I deal with mine in other ways.
We get so dependent on the drugs and as you say you run out and need something for those times you are out.
I did not like the sub symptoms of those drugs, though I have other medical conditions and can not take some of those drugs.

Just learn to call in as earliest as you can to refill your drugs. They are all kept track of in the computer, the insurance companies have to do this for there is abuse out there.

I just choose to deal with it off those drugs.....who needs to be addicted to them....

No over the counter so to speak, but certainly alternative to those meds that are natural. Try the Natural Remedies website and look up what they have for ADHD. Also see the book "The ADD Book", really goes into different things you can do; diet, behavior modification, natural things, etc.

You are the one that needs to contact them before you are down to zero with regards to your meds. Before you go off of anything, be sure to talk to your doctor. Often, doing this cold turkey can cause some problems, avoid that by doing it slowly and with medical help.
