My honey has pretty short hair and she constantly gets questions like why do you want to have hair like a man? She also gets snide remarks like don't you want to look like a woman. Close relatives have even made remarks like that to her. She loves her short hair and has told me that it will remain short as long as her heart still beats. I love it and think she looks great. Without getting downright nasty how does she shut these inconsiderates up?

tell her to respond with "why are you so rude? Don't you want to be considerate of others?" or "why does it bother you what I look like?"

The people who are saying these comments are very rude and have no class at all, I think if I were her I would simply say well if I cared what you thought I would have asked you before I had it cut this way.When they say dont you want to look like a women I would say I am a women and I look like a women and long hair does not make you look more like one! I have shoulder length hair now but most of my adult life I have had short hair I'm 35 now and I dont know where you live but most men said my hair looked sexy when it was short I think you are just dealing with a bunch of Moran's who need to worry about there self and not your honey!

She should tell them that she has found that her having short hair suits the shape of her face and looks much better on her.

Long hair simply drags her look down and isn't nearly as flattering. Then she can brag that not everyone can wear short hair. And it's so much easier to care for and a huge savings on shampoo's etc.

Also... she could remind them that if someone doesn't have something good to say; they should consider saying nothing it all.

My dad calls me a little boy because of my short hair, and it irritates me like crazy. It got to the point where my kids were calling me sir and stuff and he would laugh. The first few times I just said that I did not appreciate the comments and while I value his opinion could he please keep that one to himself, after he wouldn't stop I told him this was his last warning unitl I made him a little girl. He has not made the comment to me again.

I think being nasty is the best way to get rid of this problem. Tell them to mind their own damn business and get out of your face. Or just insult them back twice as bad as they insulted you. I guess you could just tell them that you like it that way, but I doubt that will do much in the way of making it stop.

Just smile at them and keep having the same hairstyle she likes. They will soon get the message that she's not listening to them and not moved by their remarks.

Have her ask them (boy or girl) when they got implants, or a mean comment about the size (big or small) of their breasts or "man boobs".

Or say "been eating too many twinkies, eh, fatty?"

Be equally insulting. They do not realize they are being insulting, so give them a wake up call.

If she Herself is happy,.....
Why bother about others' comments ???
Do U believe that if she changes her hair-style,..everyone will be satisfied ????
Of course, a Big "NO" !!!!!
U then will find someone else, who will through another awful comment !!!!
....And U know, ...ladies never like another lady to look beautiful !!!

i'm in the beauty business and i understand it takes a beautiful woman with confidence to pull off such a short style.
those people are too self conscious for their own good.

have her tell them something like:
i'm sorry you aren't confident and beautiful enough to pull it off but I AM.
or
because it looks great on me because i'm pretty enough to pull it off.

it puts them in their places without being a nasty B.

"I prefer it. Like you prefer being rude."
~~~
"Why do I want to have hair like a man? Hair is a matter of preference, not gender identity."
"Don't I want to look like a woman? You didn't notice my body?"
She can just say, "I love the way I look."
If you're standing next to her at the time, grab her and give her a good pda. That should shut them up.
