I think the media has a major impact to sell the idea of "global warming".

"Global warming" is a major money making scheme for stations like CNN and The Weather Channel. They tend to scare people to increase their viewership, as they know that in times of pending doom (real or imaginary) more people watch their tv's than read newspapers.

Also people are more driven by images than stories. Place anamated polar bears on melting ice like in Algore's movie, or take pictures of melting ice in summer and run them on the news in December and people's sympathy are played upon to the point where they are easily drawn in by the propaganda.

If it wasn't for slick Hollywood productions, global warming would not be the issue it is today.

Oh yeah! If the media was in charge of the news during the time of Galileo or Copernicus, we would still be arguing whether or not there are stars, planets or gravity. Climate reporting has been heavily censored for decades! You just don't get the whole picture when you get just you 'local' weather report. All weather is inter-connected. Just like a river, all the water is connected to both shores and to itself. Weather is the same. A deep low pressure center will cause a strong high pressure somewhere else. The last thing that the corporate news sources want is for everyone to realize that all things on the Earth are interconnected! If people knew the truth about global warming, there would be no petty wedge issues in the news! The climate should be the main story every day! We only have this one tiny little wet rock, spinning through space, let's not screw it up!

Man made climate change is a hoax. The media and the public schools are brain washing the kids.
We know this by what they come home and spout out of their mouths. I simply deprogram them on a nightly basis. The Weather Channel has bought into this crap as well. If it were true, why won't the Gore crowd listen to the skeptics instead of shutting them down. We should however be good stewarts of this planet..... but reasonably and honestly.

Sure. If you're living someplace where the weather has been really painful, like Georgia or Southern California, you're more likely to believe global warming is real.

And, if you get your "news" from Rush Limbaugh and right wing blogs, you're more likely to believe it's not.

Both viewpoints are uninformed, but they're very human things.

It's why I'm constantly posting links to real science. I believe, if people actually take the time and effort to learn the real science about global warming, they'll come to the correct conclusion. It takes real effort, and leaving your politics behind is important, of course.

In that spirit:

Yes. It is not an overnight effect, but gradually people have become more aware, and have slowly taken to adopt things they can do. Most people have not done much, but the overall attitude is vastly different than when I was a kid-15 years ago.
