Go for your own good diet plan with lots of fruits, vegies and lower your intake of red meat. Add lots of walking and you will lose weight. No need to spend your money on program with prepacked meals.

I have done both and have to tell you, Weight Watchers works the best! Both Nutri-System and Jenny Craig utilize pre-packaged meals ONLY, which are mostly gross tasting. You lose a lot more weight more rapidly with nutri- and jenny, but it is a wholly unpleasant (and VERY expensive) experience. On the other hand, Weight Watchers Points takes a little longer to loose the weight, but it SO much easier to stick to. You can eat normal food, still go out to eat with friends, etc. If you are looking for a quickie fix, than do Jenny or Nurti. If you are looking for a more pleasant, do-able weight loss experience, that will teach you how to eat right for the rest of your life, do Weight Watchers.

Both diets are based on the same principles...extremely restrictive dieting. They severely cut your calorie intake for rapid weight lost. However...that's really not a good idea. In the long run, extreme dieting won't keep the weight off.
You would be much better off changing your eating habits so that you're eating less fats and sugar, eating lean meats and lots of fruits and veggies, as well as implementing a good exercise routine. If you don't know where to start, talk to your doc about your concerns.
A good website to check out it

There are articles on both the nutri system and jenny craig as well as tons of other diet and exercise options.

don't spend the money!!!
you can do this yourself, without buying into a marketing gimmick.
Eat something like fruit, oatmeal, and toast for breakfast. Eggs are ok 1 to 2 times per week. Try them poached.
Make your lagest meal at lunch. Grilled fish or chicken with grilled veggies, even baked potatoe. (watch too much butter)
Even a turkey sandwich on the go, or if you have to stop at a fast food place, ask for the grilled chicked breast sandwich, add lots of lettuce and tomatoes.
For dinner/supper a huge salad w/shrimp, or tuna, or chicken.
add pine nuts, cranberries, mandarin oranges, artichoke hearts, sun dried tomatoes, etc.
eat healthy snacks throughout the day. (a slice of cheese with an apple, low fat fruit bars, small rations of fresh nuts. Dried soy beans.
Any kind of bean is a source of protein and low in fat (not refired beans...no, no, no)
Don't eat later than 6pm.
Get 20-30nminutes of excercise 3 times a week. walking works. or go to yoga classes at your local YMCA/YWCA.
An excercise ball is good becasue you don't have to leave home and no one is wathcing you. (they don't anyway, but it always seems that way, huh?)
LImit alcohol, it turns to sugar in your system.
Wild Rice, Brown Rice, Sweet Potatoes, Eggplant.
See, you just saved about $300-$400 in one reading, it usually costs at least that much each month for either program. And their food lacks.......well it is just lacking.
Buy Prevention Magazine. You may not be getting old, but they have fabulous exercises and great recipes that are quick and easy.
Try the above for 3 weeks, you will notice a difference and you will have lost a few lbs, an inch or two, and will feel better than you have in a long while.
Please get back with and let me know how you are doing, even if you choose JC or NS.......I lost 60 lbs using the above as a guideline. It took me 3.5 years to gain any back.I just stopped doing the above.
I need to lose 25-30 right now. Good Luck. You will do great.

nutra system is just food sent to your house for a few weeks and then its done. jenny craig is more of a long term thing. so nutra system would probably be cheaper but i think jenny craig would last longer and work better.

Neither, any program that uses their on foods that you have to buy won't work. There were some stats on that recently that showed those programs fail 9 out of 10 times, no surprise, once you stop eating their "food" you gain what you lost.
What is the BEST way to lose and keep it off? Learn to eat right, healthy foods. It's easy, no junk, no sodas, eat lean meats, veggies, fruits and drink lots of water. You should exercise too, at least 3-4 times a week for 20 minutes to start with. Walking is great, so is bike riding.

I would think that jenny craig would be the better investment in the long run. They actually teach to you make lifestyle changes as opposed to a quick fix.
Nurta system is just glorified lean cuisines. How does that teach you how to control your portions and how to overall live healthier?

Neither. They are diets and system which is not practical. Once you stop doing them, it's over.
I recommend you try changing your relationship with food. This way, you get to eat whatever you want and never get fat again.
Check the articles by Dr. Oz in Oprah. Best of all, information is FREE. Hope this help. ^_^
