I don't think he'd be thrilled with it, but he would accept it. It is hard to disagree with something that was designed mainly to improve driver safety, especially when your son is on the race track with you.

I'm sure that Dale Senior being known as the Intimidator would drive anything that had four wheels and a motor, but since he died because he didnt use the harnesses that could have saved his life, I'm pretty sure that he would love having an even safer car. I also know that he wouldn't have a choice in using the HANS device and other harnesses as they are now mandatory for all drivers to wear. I think that all the old school drivers, however, would not like the COT, because of the fact that its harder to turn in the corners, especially the middle of the corner, and the fact that they are also really boxy. Another thing that would kill them is how they race at the restrictor plate races like Talladega, because of the wing, you cant see when the driver is trying to signal something to you. Even though alot of the drivers have suggested that the part of the wing that restricts their view be clear, the COT still needs alot of improvements, and I'm sure Dale Earnhardt Sr. would be voicing his opinions and concerns about it, and the improvements that could be made.

Being that he was also a car owner from that standpoint I don't think that he would have liked the extra cost associated with developing a new design car. I do agree with the earlier responder that he would have been for the safety aspect.
Dale Sr. endured multiple car changes over the period of his career, none of which seemed to keep him from winning so I think he would be like bring it on, another challenge for him.

The real question here should be... Do you think there even would be a C.O.T. if Dale Sr was here?
To answer your question.. No, but he would drive it and win just like anything else he drove.

Sr. would drive anything, so the answer would be yes. His input would be listen to by Nascar more than any driver. He would want Jr and all the other drivers in safer cars. Remember that he loves a "loose" racecar.

Thats like asking "Do you think President Goerge Washington like the internet?" or "Do you think Moses would have bought a Hover craft to move faster after he parted the sea?" Geezuz, Out of respect, Let the man rest in peace and stop comparing his time to now. It cant be done. "Do you think Dale Sr like the HANS device?" Answer that one.

No, I don't think he would like it but, he'd get in there and drive it fast and hard and win..He might have put some harsher words than Kyle Busch did when he won Bristol in the COT.
