People do change and sometimes they will flip-flop back and forth on a daily basis but when it comes to the important stuff like following a football team (or a religion) they will probably never, ever, change.

Individuals change their thought constantly, that's why people denounce faith, and acquire faith.
People in general evolve(change) to better survive for the future as a society.

People do change, but have strong tendencies to act in whatever manner they have acted before. It's habit energy, or karma, or whatever you want to call it. Changing one's behavioral patterns takes a great deal of efffort.
